Manager, Long Term.

“As long as I continue to improve the club going forward then it’s not a short-term fix for me,” the Everton manager said. “It is about fixing it first and then planning for the future, which has not been in the forefront of my mind for a while because it has all been about ‘Come and rescue us’.

“Coming back out of retirement was not to come and rescue someone else again but to do bigger things in the future. A club this size, with this ambition, is a great opportunity for me to finish my career here hopefully.”

Heres one, there talking about Brendan Rodgers on Talk Sport, would anyone rather have him then Sam? I dont think i would just because of his conections, anyone?
If he didn't manage Liverpool I would probably have him over Silva but he did so I would prefer Silva.

Exactly and that’s what a CEO will don
Spurs owner appointed the right man and sits back and lets him get on with it.
We need someone of the Calibre of Dein at Arsenal or Gill at United to grab the club by the scruff of the neck and shake it up
I have made this point but people have to remember Levy burned through managers at a rapid pace before getting Poch.

We shouldn't be sentimental.

I have nothing personally against Sam. He talks well of us. He appreciates that we are a big job. He's just not convincing me that he's anything but a mid table manager used to managing teams where the priority was to not get beat by playing % football rather than controlling and dominating the opposition looking for the win.

Today just reinforced that view.

He has not improved us.
To think, we could have stuck with Unsy and then got Silva on a free.
Moshiri will now (I hope) pay the Sam team off and then put a massive down payment on a new fella, who in turn will have to spend a fortune at 2018 prices for a team rebuild.
That will mean another season of trial and error, but it has to be better than this. It has to be!!!
Bottom line in all of this is better decisions have to be made at the top. Moshiri has to do better!

Before signing any more dud players I’d rather just pay any money it takes to get someone like Simeone- someone with a clear identity and idea of how they want to play. And a serial winner with a never say die attitude. Listen to the way Sam talks. He’s a serial mid table manager. Every other manager in the top 6 (where we supposedly want to be) is leagues ahead of what we’ve had.

Get the manager sorted first before spunking more money on garbage players and taking punts here and there. If you build it they will come. We all want to pay to money for players but instead of spending £6 million on Allardyce why not just offer someone who’s actually decent £12 million. Hell we should have just given the Klaassen and Sandro fees to a new manager instead.

Fonseca (Shakhtar coach atm) would be a good target but not sure if the club could afford it.
