Match Thread Man Utd V Everton. Sun 3 Aug - 22:00 BST

Yeah, not been great this. A tour to show the world we're just not very good. Can't imagine it's going to kick start the USA fans coming to us before say United, Bournemouth or even West Ham.
Pointless exercise.
I think the fan “result” on this side of the pond is a difficult one to determine until a few years after. There will obviously be some that will purely / superficially gravitate to the “name” of United, but if we have a good supporter showing in the stadiums, the more dedicated / long term supporter types will want to be a part of an underdog, provided they’re not the only ones. Football is still growing here, and most new fans don’t want to be seen as just jumping on a marketing bandwagon.

I’m happy to finally get my dad to the match today - hopefully he and I will make it to the new ground in a year or so.

I have a slew of friends who are unfortunately united fans and they have already got on board of the delusion bus after having multiple conniptions about their hardships last season. They seriously think they're going to be in the champions League spots 😂. I think they'll thump us in a meaningless preseason game because they're squad looks more assembled and then proclaim they're set to win the league, the dinguses

We are in Atlanta for this game. Mrs THBJ went downstairs for coffee this morning and several Man U players and coaches got on the elevator- they’re staying in our hotel.

So she promptly came back to the room, put on her Everton shirt, and rode the elevator a few more times so she could chirp at them.

And in the lobby, there are a bunch of Utd supporter kids, waiting for autographs. She overheard that the team was having its meeting in a 4th floor hotel ballroom so she told all the kids, invited them into the elevator, and showed them where to go to crash the meeting.
