What has PO'ed me more than that result is the reaction of so many to it. Over the top praise for the defenders who, when it comes down to it, couldn't see the job out. That's the fact of the matter. But what are people doing instead of being livid at the failure? Just a collective shrug of the shoulders and a "argh aren't we unlucky eh?"

That was not the United team that did the double in 2007. That was a team who have won one home game in the league in 2017, are one place above us in the league and are heavily reliant on their star striker because of their weak squad. A team literally a mirror image of us. Yet no one is angry we didn't kill them off when we had so many chances too. Not properly angry anyway, not the type of anger a true winning club displays when they don't win.

That's the reason we never win any big away games, because no one expects too deep down and no one is really arsed that we don't. It's infuriating. I want my club to win, I demand they win, I will not make crappy jokes and laugh to myself when they don't win.

Left out the bit about United being unbeaten in their last 19 games mate. Yeah gutting to not hold on, but not like we just lost at home to Sunderland either is it.

for about 10 minutes in the first half it looked like man utd v Bayern munich or Barcelona

we had man utd eating out of our hands, they were backing off, we were passing it around them, it was glorious

why could we not sustain that for longer?

has to be psychological

defeatist attitude

I just sum it up as it's not a result to be disappointed by. The manner we drew in is what's disappointing.

But it happens.

West Brom lost points, we've gained a point on them. Just think of it that way.

It should have been three. But in the end it's probably a fair result.

United switched systems and it took them time to get used to it.

Mourinho made three changes that got them going - and when you can introduce Pogba, Mkhitaryan and Martial (I think?) that's the quality you can have from the bench.

Edit: It was fat-boy Shaw

I had todo an airport run tonight so was listening to the radio when the penalty was given.

Feels sickening after the derby TBH !!!

How come Mirallas was taken off ? Did I hear Lukaku and Williams had an argument ?

i'd take the risk and throw more attacking players on, at times we had 2 v 2, if we put more players up top we could have 4 v 2's or 5 v 2's, yes that's risky because they could score, but the pay off is we could go on and grab a second, then we can defend for our lives once we get the second.

doing it at 1-0 is just suicidal and moyesesque.

You did see the team we put out Sunday? I agree at full strength we have as good a team as those two - but due to circumstances we fielded a much weaker team than our opposition on both occasions - less so tonight.

We just do not. We are sorely lacking in midfield and out wide. We also rely so much on Lukaku for goals. If Man United had a manager with concern for attacking, instead of super defensive and negative Jose, they would be much better. This bad Man United team is ahead of us, and they have two games in hand. The kings of draws and one goals wins are in front of us with two games in hand.

And obviously Liverpool are better and more organised team than Man U. They get goals from many players.

Mkhitaryan, Rashford, Martial, Mata, Pogba, De Gea, Herrera and his punchable face, Bailly, would all probably get into our team. We are lucky they do not have good offensive minded coach, or they would be much further ahead of us. This is not bashing our team because they have of course outspend us incredibly, but lets be honest with our situation.

While Jose is there, we have a great chance to finish above them in coming seasons.

Mirallas went off because Koeman switched to a three at the back.

I personally thought he could maybe leave it another five minutes as we were looking dangerous on the counter, but at the same time we were getting pelted down the flanks so I think he wanted more support in there - and Pennington did well.

The Calvert-Lewin sub was wrong. Barkley needed to be taken off, but it needed to be Valencia coming on.]

And yes, Rom and Williams were shouting at each other all night - as in at least showing passion. When Williams got sent off Rom was saying something to Pogba that seemed to be 'Why the F did he do that?'

To be fair I said the same listening to the radio !

Did Williams make a mistake or did he have no choice ? No idea whose going to play center back on Saturday ?!

We do e subs to counter what they did, the first tbh worked, koeman sussed they where gonna go route one and got an extra cb on, and even after that we could have put the game away a couple of times on the counter, the last sub didn't work, dcl looked frozen by the occasion and we couldn't get out after it, but hey, that's football, save for an utter mistake by Williams followed by an utterly brain dead one to make up for the first, we win and we laud a dog's of war performance, such are the fine margins really.

Ratings, IMO:

Robles - 6 - Made some good saves but at the same time flapped a lot and he's shown in these last two games why he can't be our no.1 next season. He's a good lad and he gets Everton, but simply not good enough to be no.1.

Holgate - 7 - He was superb. Stood up to everything.

Jagielka - 9 - Fantastic performance. A real captain's display. Gets a lot of stick - sometimes rightly so - but he's been very good since he came back into the side.

Williams - 8 - He was brilliant. Won't blame him for the penalty. It happens.

Baines - 8 - Brilliant defensively. Couldn't get forward much.

Barry - 8 - He was class. Ran the tempo and got on the ball. Kept calm and made some vital blocks.

Gueye - 8 - Everywhere.

Davies - 6 - Ran out of steam a bit. I'd consider resting him for the next game, though it doesn't look like we'll have many players...

Barkley - 6 - His decision-making let him down but a much better performance from him overall.

Kev - 7 - Looked lively and always likely to make something happen. Probably went off 5 minutes too soon.

Lukaku - 6 - Grafted more but his decision making - like Ross' - let him down, though he put a worldie cross in that could easily have been a goal.

Pennington - 6 - Stood up well though got done by Ibra for the disallowed goal. Won't be the first won't be the last. Interesting to see how he'll get on come Sunday.

Calvert-Lewin - 5- Lad had a bit of a stinker but it was the wrong sub. He still looks a talent and was always positive, though.

I got up just over an hour ago - 7.00am here - and started watching the recording. I can jump forward in
blocks of five minutes and a minute or so after we scored I did it. I was nervous and couldn't wait.

25minutes,30,40,45.....75, 80, getting really excited now, 85, and then....What a kick in the guts. It feels like we lost.

I'll go and watch it all now.
