The bigger problem might actually be that Garbutt is now 22 and therefore not a U21. He wouldn't be an automatic pick as an over age player in the U21's any more and he's 3rd choice for the first team. He's never going to get a game so would never be match fit if called upon

Is he actually any good? No one seems to know
yup, that's why people are getting their knickers in a twist. Very good going forward, quick with a good delivery, excellent corners. Perhaps not too great at actually defending but he's only 22.
He is 3rd choice though given our other excellent options.

Yeah, just over 10 PL appearances by age 22 is not setting the world on fire
Well exactly and this is the whole point and why we're in this situation of possibly losing him!

Even when both Baines AND Oviedo have been missing, the manager has decided to use a 34 year old injury ravaged right back at left back instead, or use a completely untested at PL level 19 year old from the U21'S.

And some on here wonder why it looks like he's leaving!

Thats why he should get a grip and not to be a tit and think he's something else.
Get a grip of what? And why is he being a tit?? He's not getting a game, so he's quite rightly seeing out his contract and probably going somewhere else where he will play.

How is that "being a tit"? That's just being sensible in my book and I don't blame him one iota.

So I am reading on another site from a supposed itk that the poo, Villa and Ajax have made offers, and Bournemouth have pencilled him as the starting left back. He wants to stay at Everton but needs the game time.

Could anyone blame him for leaving? Although in 12 months time, we may be in the market for a left back. Damn shame to lose him.

Well it seems some do bizarrely! He isn't a 17 youth/Acadamy player who should bide his time, he's 22 years old and been getting splinters in his ar se for years.

He's a talented player, that's obvious, who should now at his age be playing football. It seems he's not happy at not playing and wants to be playing football which should be commended not criticised.

A few are accusing him of thinking "he's better than he is", or "he has two international players in front of him he should stop being a tit and not expect to play" etc etc

Don't you think he realises that he has two international players ahead of him at the club? And does he actually "expect" to play ahead of them?

I don't think he does actually and that's more than likely why he's rightfully keeping his options open and looking for somewhere where he will have a better chance to play.

What he probably did "expect" though, was to be given more chances when both said internationals were missing instead of still getting splinters in his ar se and watching Tony Hibbert and Brendan Galloway get the left back spot instead.

Ffs just sign him up and give him next season out on loan at another PL team (Prob a new comer)

It's not rocket science!
How does that benefit him though? The manager has already publically said he isn't even second choice, that honour goes to 25 year old Bryan Oviedo.

So he goes on loan and waits for Baines to hang up his boots, and then returns to sit on the bench and be understudy to Bryan Oviedo?

It benefits him by going out and playing week in week out. It is then up to him to prove whilst out on loan that upon his return he should be ahead of Oveido and or Baines.

People get over excited on here about young kids or players who come in and have a few good games. Week in week out is a whole different ball game!

He's simply no where near the standard of Baines currently. He needs to go out and prove it. But obviously it's gonna be hard to do that here when someone like Baines is first choice.
