Boss today. Had £32m Mangala (Lol) in his back pocket.

Just hope Martinez will help him out a bit more with his tactics from now on!

you see some of the prices that get paid these days for defenders and you wonder what kind of scouting has gone on.

mangala and sakho for example are both players who become the best defenders in the world on football manager, when you watch them they don't seem to have any good attributes. yes they're both young, but they barely seem like footballers at times.

I've been his biggest critic of late but he has been fantastic the last two games. He's carrying the torch when we need him the most. I like his attitude, I think he really cares.

this is the thing that warms me the most to him, he's got a bright head on his young shoulders. i think most of us are under no illusions that he sees and is going to use us as a stepping stone, but as long as he plays his heart out and shows genuine care for the club (which he does), then that's fine by me.

people are always moaning these days about players like scott sinclair who move purely for money and don't really care about playing, but this guy is the opposite. he wants to be playing regular football, settled for one team, not changing teams every year only to be a rotation option at chelsea.

Excellent in the last two games. Proving the doubters wrong. Not like he needs to as they're clueless anyway. And i'm talking about the ones who started saying he wasn't a good player. Being frustrated with aspects of his game is understandable as he did go through a tough patch, but there were some that wrote him off which was laughable.

World class. Bony is going for 30m+ to city and is no more effective in my book. cannot believe the lack of support he has received from a certain section of the fans who are happy to tolerate Martinez's own misconduct in dealing with him and other issues.

Watched the MOTD spotlight on him and it really showed what a monster he is. Mangala looks hilariously overpriced but he's no slouch nor a weakling, and Lukaku battered him all game. Only some top, top saves from Hart denied him the goal(s) he deserved.

More importantly though we're actually feeding him a bit. Still not enough, but a bit more and enough for him to have a chance. He's doing a lot of the work himself at the moment and definitely needs more support, but the signs are all there. He feels like a game changing player, and that's what you pay big bucks for.

Hopefully the tragic death of Malanda doesn't impact him too much. Must be horrible for him.
