As I´m sure we will when he goes back to Chelsea and we´re back to square one.

thing is mate with the squad we have were on the outside edge of top 4, only thing in previous years stopping that has been a out and out goalscorer for a full year, lets see how it pans out, if he slots and gets us in europe its worth the loss of him next year

In all seriousness, you have yourselves a fantastic player. Calling players a good professional has become a cliche of sorts in the game but Romelu Lukaku is a terrific professional who knows where he needs to improve and knows what he wants to achieve with his career. We fell in love with him down here, not just for his ability on the pitch but primarily for the fact that is a level headed lad and not the usual prima-donnas you're used to seeing.

He's good on either foot and is a giant of a man. The way he left defenders for dead last season was at times frightening.

Good luck trying to replace him after next season.

Who's arsed if the lad is on loan.

He's f*cking class and we're finally going into a season with a proper centre forward, haven't been so excited about a signing in ages.

Haha.

In the long run mate you may have the better deal. Lukaku will surely be gone after a year but Vic could serve you well for the rest of his career. He always struggled badly with injuries but finally, in the past few seasons he's had a lot less trouble and learned how to use his huge physique to his advantage. He'll never be Lukaku but I am actually more disappointed to see Vic go than Fellaini, as I expected the big Belgian to leave, but really never expected Big Vic to go anywhere.

We've needed someone like Anichebe really since Lukaku left. I just hope Big Vic can add some goals to his game and remain injury fee.

I still fee we've panic bought and in the greatest respect to Anichebe, been robbed.

Always was impressed how he came across in interviews with you lot. Great English, really level headed and erudite to boot, thoroughly impressive lad.

If he doesn't score a hattrick on his debut he will get ripped on here. Waste of Money! Anichebe better! Lazy Ba5tard. You just know it.

He wont at all. And I doubt there's a single Evertonian in the world who thinks Victor is better than him.

Classy post mate and hope you lot do well this year, i always liked the way he didnt seem to have the 'too good' to play for a smaller team etc attitude whilst at you lot, no offence meant but ya know what i mean, if we get the same performanc from him you lot had then will be hard losing him, then again id rather have a great year watching a top forward bossing games than watching jelavich another year...

...I suspect this is the signing that provides the most expectation. I also suspect that with him we would have turned a couple of the draws into wins. Pity he wont be available for Chelsea. I'm not sure if there's any long term prospect as far as we are concerned but he's clearly a level headed lad (Baggie post above) and one that likes to feel at home in a club. We could be just right for him and him for us.

The thing about these sort of players at clubs like us unfortunately is that even if we'd got him permanently how many seasons would he have stayed without champions league? 1 maybe 2. Benteke will leave Villa next season and they'll have had for what 2 seasons, just like a glorified loan deal except you get a nice cash windfall at the end. If Lukaku gets us European football or a trophy then he will be worth every pound loan or not.
