Lukaku vs Sturridge

To be fair Ched Evans did go on to prove that he was fairly lethal in the box

*Hahahahaha*.

Sturridge is a very good player, bit of a greedy b*stard at times but he's repaying his manager for giving him the chance to play as a centre forward, none of this chucking a striker out wide to fit someone else in lark.

Him & Suarez will do very well this season, unfortunately.

You've (sadly) got to give Rodgers a lot of credit for Sturridges form.

When he was a young lad at City he looked good but always tried one turn to many or played with his head down. At Chelsea his chances were limited and I think when he did play he tried to hard and again would make poor decisions or try one to many turns.

At the ****e he his playing every week for a manager that trusts him and it shows. From once being a selfish or greedy player, his link up and assists for Suarez have been very impressive.

I do think he is the type of player that will have dip in form and might revert back to being greedy. But I think his ability far outweights the negative aspects of his game these days

Jelavic is better...

... at missing.

Mate, don't be so hard on the lad, all he needs is one goal and his confidence will soar.

Yes, it's been 18 games since his last goal but his attitude is exceptional, unlike Sturridge who is just far too greedy with the ball, i'd personally rather have a team player like Jelavic than somebody like Sturridge, who clearly plays for only himself.

I personally think he will come good but have enjoyed watching him, I personally think he & Lukaku should be our front 2 he will thrive imo.

I also thought Sturridge was greedy, but from what I've seen he's been bringing other players into the game more this season, got 2 assists when they beat Sunderland as well. I wrote him off after the olympics, but he certainly looks a good player.

As for Jelavic, just lost faith in him dude. I would like to see us play 2 up front, but no chance are we playing 4-4-2, the only way we're playing 2 up top is 3-5-2.

Mate I was taking the piss, Jelavic is one of the most useless players I've ever seen, we might as well be lining up with an empty packet of quavers up front when that beaut is playing.

2 goals in a calendar year, the ghost of Mo Mowlam could do better than that.

I should have known really.

I got the impression that Sturridge felt forced into the wide position and fell out with the coaching staff because they wouldn't play him centrally. Regardless, I think he had the misfortune of being on the same team as Drogba, who was DROG M'F'IN BA, and Torres, who was too expensive to ride the pine.

Both a quality players, both were considered by Chelsea to be not good enough for their team and both score crazy amounts of goals. Both of them also seem fairly well grounded (ie not n*bheads) Where would you rank them alongside each other?

I would say Lukaku is slightly better because of his age and his all round game. But am I biased because Sturridge is a RS? I'm not sure.

I'm just thinking, if Chelsea let Sturridge go for £12m, maybe we could get Lukaku for a little bit more? No? Well its worth a try.

What Sturridge have you been watching!??!

this is not even a contest. Lukaku still plays for chelsea so it's stupid to put him in the same "chelsea don't want him" bracket. Sturridge's good player, but he won't be wanted by the very best like lukaku will in their respective careers.
