Lukaku vs Sturridge

Both a quality players, both were considered by Chelsea to be not good enough for their team and both score crazy amounts of goals. Both of them also seem fairly well grounded (ie not n*bheads) Where would you rank them alongside each other?

I would say Lukaku is slightly better because of his age and his all round game. But am I biased because Sturridge is a RS? I'm not sure.

I'm just thinking, if Chelsea let Sturridge go for £12m, maybe we could get Lukaku for a little bit more? No? Well its worth a try.

If I recall correctly mate, when Sturridge left he hadn't really shown much and the fans weren't too bothered (I could be wrong in saying this like). No one really expected him to be as good as he is now. Whereas it's common knowledge Lukaku is boss and the Chelsea fans couldn't believe they'd let him go

Sturridge is class, he's strong, quick, skillful, links up well, is clinical. Lukaku's more a quicker Drogba.

Does anyone feel like Sturridge is still currently playing way above his level? He's had a phenomenal start to his career at the shire, but just have a feeling (maybe it's just blind hope) that he'll dip down to something closer to the level he's shown his whole career, save for the last 6 months

I think it's a little bit unfair to talk about what Sturridge's level really is. He was never really given a chance at City or Chelsea, but was amazing at Bolton. It's only natural that he would do better with a more creative team and it's no coincidence that Bolton got relegated the year after he left. I think if City weren't bought by billionaires, he would probably still be there as their first choice striker. He was on the verge of being a first team regular there when they got bought out and decided that they only wanted players that cost an insane amount of money regardless of ability.

Sturridge had a very good loan spell at Bolton IIRC, and was doing very well at Chelsea before he got the arse about being asked to play wide and it was more his attitude than any lack of skill that saw him out of Chelsea I think. Not sure what happened at City. I think he's kind of realised the ****e are kind of like last chance saloon for him and has something to prove. He's certainly playing like it.

Lukaku is better, hobvs.

That's been pretty much my feeling with him as well, not convinced his current form is anything more than a Jelavic style hot streak.

sturridge grounded he comes across as an absolute prize plum, just look at his face when he scores ffs! good start to the season tho...has very good attributes, lukaku is more complete and has better potential, the main difference tho is the fact they own sturridge..

TBF, I absolutely rate Sturridge. I think he's the best English striker around. The RS have a very, very good front pair.
