Lukaku Shrugging off Arteta

I was a bit worried for Mikel when he did that (going shoulder to shoulder with Lukaku)... thought he might die.

As it was, I don't know if he died... there was just a little pile of his kit on the floor, like Obi Wan Kenobi

They eventually found Arteta in about row W, bollock naked, arms wrapped around himself, rocking back and forth and singing "oh lord i want to go home"

Thought lukaku was quite poor today

I actually thought the players neglected him at times. There was countless opportunities that he showed for the ball and if it was played to him he had the option of a quick one two or if the defender got tight spinning and taking it himself but we always tended to take another option, he must have been really frustrated at times. I agree it was not one of his best games but I think he would have been much more involved if the players would have gone to him on a more regular basis.

Spot on mate. If anyone recorded the game just watch the first 20 minutes as an example and you will see Lukaku make 5 amazing runs where 4 times a simple ball would have put him either clean through or one on one with a run at goal. Its all about our decision making in the final 3rd because he's definitely been working on turning his last man he just needs the final ball. To a lesser extent this happened a lot with Jelavic but he ain't got the pace to out run defenders where as Lukaku has. He's a top player for a 20 year old is Rom.

he is better coming off the bench but clearly we can't afford to play Jelavic as he is gash

I prefer him starting mate and his record is superb. Honestly, if we sort our **** out when it comes to final ball decision making this boy could be banging in hatricks every first half. He's very clever and is learning and taking a lot in every game he plays. He will certainly go back an even better player to Chelsea come the end of the season.

Brilliant!

Got a lot of time for Arteta, still.

He's quality on and off the pitch. Not sure that Arsenal was the best move for him, he needs a team where he is playing every week, not being the guy to be rotated around bigger names.

I would have him back, no issues.

He plays for another team now but nevertheless shows us some respect. In a match anything can happen and does that is the way of things.

Got a lot of time for arteta still my favourite ever Everton player him leaving genuinely gutted me (was to young when rooney left). Would take him as a cm option alongside barry and McCarthy no worries
