Was thinking the same thing. Now I know at his age he can't play like he used to (which was controlling the midfield and drawing fouls) but at the Joe Allen role for Arsenal he seems to contribute as much as well Joe Allen does now. He wanted no part of Barkley and just kept backing and backing up when Ross had the ball. Also Barry plays the Arteta role better.

He seems to have turned into a real stoke type player. I loved him but his game is complete opposite to what it used to be. I cant believe that lunging challenge he attempted on lukaku when he just shrugged him off! Im really sad to say but hes a grock.

I still like Arteta...he's a prat when he's playing against us, but that's his job. When the game's over he respects our club and his time here.

Got no problem with him doing his job on the park as he is always great about us off it. Something Moyes could learn off him.
