He just seems to feel pressure really badly. Hasn't scored against a top 6 team since he moved to United, and his record against top 6 sides and his overall performances in big games for us were terrible as well. Unfortunately though it won't get glossed over while playing for United. The media will be all over it and heaping even more pressure on him, and their fans who have been spoonfed glory since they were in nappies won't tolerate it.

His usual modus operandi with us was that he was good for a brace in a 4-0 demolition of a club in lower reaches of the prem but not the game changer who can score the winner against a top 6 club.

Same player at united as far as I can tell.

Why is anyone surprised?

I think he's a grade A tosser for the way he's handled himself.

I'd love to see if he celebrates against Chelsea or West Brom if he scores tbh. He has no respect, regardless of whether our fans were getting at him... tough. He's a professional athlete who's pay £100,000's every week, to be exactly that, but part of the description and responsibility to handling the pressure of the crowd. He disrespected us 100x more than Mirallas ever did, but everyone hates him... with his "I know my next club", "I need CL Football" blah blah blah.

I loved the fella, but you know what? He can shove it. Nothing makes me happier than seeing City canter the league, and Lukaku on his way to a hiding. Coward.

Have to work with quite a few Mancs and they were lording it when they got him. I warned them of his touch, laziness, being a flat track bully, missing easy crucial chances and that he got [Poor language removed] when he cut off the dreds. They all now agree and are gutted they missed out on Morata. Lukaku is not consistent enough to be an elite striker and does not have the ability at present.

Sounds like he was a key figure in tbe post-match tunnel fracas and MOTD spent some of the programme kicking his performance.

Everton have missed him. But I wonder if some of the criticism of him is turning out to be accurate, such as first touch ability. And whether he's being found out at the very top level.
Don't care

He's a lot like Andy Cole in the sense he's prolific but limited in terms of all round play and doesn't turn up against top teams. No bad thing to have in your armoury though - the player who breaks the resistance of lesser sides who park the bus / gets your goal difference up.

Too soon to gloat, he's odds on to destroy us at Goodison.

Lads, judge at the end of the season, sake, like Liverpool saying they're gonna win the league in October. Gonna be some egg on face in here. He'll have 20+ gls come May.

Think you are missing the point of the criticism. He’ll get 20 by scoring easy goals to finish blowing out bad teams, but he’ll continue going missing in big games and United will finish well short of the title.

So is a 24 year old that scores 20 plus goals a season a flop now then? Cuz that's the point I'm getting at that some are insinuating. All I'm saying is judge when he's had a season at least, a lot can change in the Premier league very quickly
