Losing to Arsenal...would it be so bad?

If a loss to Arsenal handed them 4th over RS, would you be happy?

I would much rather we went for it and won; would be making a statement if we can get the win to our rivals for next season, and as said above could make our chances of signing quality players, and keeping them higher.
Are you a scouser mate? I truly believe it's coming down to this. Understandable too as we share a city with them.

@ilikecheese you're made to be Scouse lid.

Lose obviously. Won't affect us in the slightest

Otherwise all you'll hear for years and years from the kopites is that Everton got them in the champions league (by beating arsenal) you know what they're like never hear the end of it

Faced with a worse dilemma against City a few seasons ago my pre-game thoughts were what will be, will be... but then Ross hit that screamer and I was suddenly "oh [Poor language removed] what have you just done lad?". And then they went ahead and I couldn't resist thinking "oh well first time in 40 years I can live with us being beaten" until Naismith went clean thru in the six yard area. He missed and from row E of the park end I shouted "thank [Poor language removed] that was you Nais"! Never forget him looking towards me with a smile. Having wondered about that I had the lucky chance socially to ask him about that moment about 6 months later and he said that he didn't mean to miss but it was only when he missed and looked up did he realise that the park end if not the whole stadium might've been happier with him not scoring.

So, should it come to it, no moral worries or otherwise from me next Sunday ...

Not sure if we're talking about the same chance but only for a brilliant finger tip save from Joe Heart he would have scored.

We never beat Arsenal away any way but if we do lose you can bet the kopites will come up with some conspiracy theory, not that they can't beat Palace, Burnley, Bourne mouth etc at Analfield

We have been terrible against any of the top 6 this season so nothing will change there.

So if it meant Liverpool coming 5th, absolutely. Season ended when west Brom gave up on Europe 2 months ago.

Well in an ideal situation, I'd rather we beat Arsenal that will at least break one hoodoo, then the RS lose in a CL qualifer and then like us can't handle the pain of going out and lose a Europa qualifer. (With a mix of bad refereeing) Or they lose both of their last matches.

We have beaten Arsenal on the one occasion we have played them this season and are unbeaten in all four games against the Manchester clubs.

So that is half the top six we have not been "terrible" against :)

But let's hope we are terrible next week if Arsenal need the points
