Lookman’s future unclear

He isn't ready for week in week out no but he was ready for more minutes from the bench and some starts, than being dropped from the bench after two good performances. We've been over this but doesn't it worry you that Allardyce is so short term? Doesn't trust in youth? Would you have rather given this kid a few games rather than starting a poor Bolasie week in week out. I remind you we have nothing left to play for and haven't for months. Also Sam didn't chose for him to go to RB on loan I could get on with that, he threw the lad under the bus for asking to go there. Would you want to play for a manager like that? I will be gutted if this kid leaves because he has tons of potential. But you will obviously happy if we replaced him with Antonio and the fella from Swansea.

To be honest I think this "not trusting in youth" thing is absolute rubbish. Davies and Calvert-Lewin have featured in most games since he got here, Baningime has got some time and Kenny was playing until Coleman came back (and rightfully so).

Look around the league, I bet most clubs are not playing more than 3 under 20s week in and week out. Lookman played under Allardyce for what, a month? Then asked to move on loan which is fine and perfectly normal.

Your last bit is a bit mad (ignoring the fact that Antonio is a useful player.) What makes you think I would "obviously be happy" with that? Because I don't see anything wrong with a player like Lookman going on loan and learning something? He has shown some flashes for us, he has also had games were he has been pretty useless. That's normal for a young player like him. Lets face it he would be getting called crap anyway if he was here and playing like we seem to do with the rest of our young players. Funnily enough if he goes somewhere else he is the next Pele or something.

Just let him develop.

One of a new breed of player coming out of the English youth system. They’ve been taught the game similarly to their German and Spanish counterparts. Allardyce doesn’t understand them and they don’t understand him.

Exactly let him develop don't blame him or drop him from the bench for months after he's come on and contributed to a goal in the derby. Give him minutes here and there and the odd start. I said that because you seem to trust Sam Allardyce's judgement, in various threads, so I can only presume you'd rather Sam packs the squad with his kind of players. I never said he was Pele but he has been mishandled, if he's going on loan talk it up don't blame the lad. I never even said he should be starting every week just thought he deserved more minutes. He's 20 for cripes sakes he's going to be inconsistent you don't appear to have any patience with that. As for trusting in youth all the players you mentioned were blooded by other managers. He has dropped them for 'experience' even when the experienced player was playing badly. We have some good players coming through we need to nurture them and surround them with quality and some experience in order to build. Not give them five minutes at the end of a game or a start then drop them from the bench for months. We won't be able to buy ready made in every posotion. My worry is Sam doesn't have the patience or ability to understand or coach their style and these players will end up leaving, setting us back. He doesn't trust in youth you will find this out if he's still here come August.

He really hasn't said anything though has he? It is literally a long winded way of saying no comment and the press comes out with this wild headline about how he is going to staying in Germany.

You say don't drop him for months? He only worked under Allardyce for about a month!

People worry about youth far too much. If they are good enough they are old enough.
