Or people aren't just bootlicking for once.

I'm not saying people should be violent against others but the police shouldn't automatically get respect if they haven't done anything to deserve it.

What do you want them to do exactly to "deserve" it? How do the protesters know what the police they are attacking have done?

These scum are just thugs who latch on to any movement to cause bother. I guarantee in 10-15 years time they will be the same idiots who come out with the "well MY child would never do anything like that" when their kid is bollocked by an authority figure for being a little toe wag.

What happens when you bring someone up without discipline/respect.

Some of us are brought up others are dragged up.

I'm not talk about the protests in particular, I mean in general. No job instantly commands respect.

Just because they wear a uniform etc doesn't mean they automatically command any more, or less respect, than someone who works in a corner shop or something.

Its done to provoke the police so some moron can film "police brutality" for likes and retweets on social media.

I would love the police to give the idiots causing bother a good clip. Too many in this country that dont know that actions have consequences and think they are above the law and everyone else.
I know. Perhaps these protests will mark some real change and the police will find out they aren't.

It's not even about respect. It's about knowing that it's not ok to throw stuff at people in the street. I dont see any defence for it.

If the police are charging at people on horses like the Victorian times, people are going to react. The police should be able to control the crowd but as expected, they only know how to use force.

I've not seen any evidence of that.

Horses are used in UK regularly in crowds, especially at sporting events and I've never seen any trouble.

There are loads of videos of the police charging at them. Both the police and a small amount of protesters are at fault here.

Agree with that mate - but respect works both ways aswell just because they are in uniform doesnt mean they have to stand there taking crap from idiots wanting a reaction.

The police don’t charge at will mate an order has to be given based on the threat level and the actions of the crowd.

The person giving the order will be sat miles away monitoring a live feed, with an acute awareness that the whole thing will be on social media in seconds and all that that brings. The whole situation will have been evaluated based on restoring order and regaining control of the situation as quickly as possible, before it gets totally out of hand.

It’s not just one of the coppers shouting “ charge “ and all the rest piling in.

Or people lobbing stuff at them, which could possibly kill or seriously injure someone.

That’s the problem with demos in the country, scumbags who just want to cause trouble attach themselves to the genuine protest and it turns nasty.
