It’s a tough one to be honest. I was never a fan of LoG (although went to the same uni as them so well aware of the source material) but I loved the mighty boosh.
The two characters in general are very close to the old minstrel acts which are very offensive.
I don’t think there is intent there but I can totally see why people may draw parallels.

Has anyone seen Spadge’s irony anywhere?
I’m just saying I can see how the idea of white actors using black face to depict a character can be offensive, particularly because of how close the make up is to black face. I’m not saying there is intent. I’m saying I can see why it is troubling. If anything is offensive about Papa Lazerou it would be the depiction of travellers.
The characters trait isn't being "black".
Also his skin (in the show) is actually his real skin, funnily enough he goes "whiteface" during the show as opposed to blackface.

You can watch anything.
Banned films are still available online quite easily.
Yes you can. It’s valid, but it’s also wrong. We can all see the black people who are at the forefront of BLM. To not see them is remarkable.
Oh I know what you are saying but people need to be careful here I think.I’m just saying I can see how the idea of white actors using black face to depict a character can be offensive, particularly because of how close the make up is to black face. I’m not saying there is intent. I’m saying I can see why it is troubling.
Not legally though.
Yes you can.
I also see picture upon picture of white people pulling down statues , rioting against police.
I see black people peacefully protesting, I see white people rioting.
And that's my perspective. You are telling me I am wrong on my perspective as well? How the media present the information to me , the images they use , is that then making what I say wrong? I'm only then passing opinion based on how the media present it.
You seem to miss entirely what I say. When it comes to opinion, I'm not wrong. The fact that an opposing opinion is wrong is the biggest issue of all.
Like I keep saying , 100 years ago our ancestors did the exact same thing because they believed they were right. Now people think they are right. What about in another 100 years if people march and riot against white people , will they be right?
Then it's wrong now to riot , vandalise , assault people. Especially given it's a small % as you put it.You keep saying it, and it’s still wrong. 100 years ago some people, a very small %, had some riots. This was wrong then and wrong now, and will still be wrong in 100 years.
Then it's wrong now to riot , vandalise , assault people. Especially given it's a small % as you put it.
The subject matter is not important , the actions are.
It is hypocritical then to say 100 years ago people were wrong for rioting for what they thought was right and they are right for doing the same now Because their opinion has changed.
Tearing down statues for example is rioting. Attacking police is rioting. Vandalising is rioting.
So you don't agree people should be doing this over black lives matter?
