The government (both here and in the States) have basically negated anyone taking precautions over coronavirus.

I agree with this, particularly in the States. Respective government attitudes to the coronavirus have engendered a fairly lax attitude to the dangers of covid over time, it's no coincidence that the protests have happened in countries where there has been a complete failure of leadership

Haha im centre left myself but as I mentioned to @Harryflashman a few days ago coming from a martial arts background I've always been taught that violence should be the last resort and ultimately most problems are solved peacefully.

The problem I have with an element of the left (largely is younger uni types) is that they think they are intellectually enlightened more than anyone else and if they feel like someone disagrees with them they proceed to verbally/physically attack but do so under the pretence of "fighting for peace".

No discipline, respect or training - just little jumped up thugs who need taking down a peg - shame the police wouldnt welly them as it would only cause more bother in the circumstances at present.

I think the majority of people are centre left, they appreciate hard work whilst looking after one another and believe in the rule of law and discipline.

I think this works for one on one scenarios.

What global/national etc problems have been solved peacefully though? Not many.

Peaceful protests are seen as a mere annoyance to those in power. They could do without them but they will tire themselves out eventually.

Depends on what masks and how they are worn as well as the risk increasing in crowded spaces.

No not really, outdoor transmission has shown to be at very low levels, and even the most basic of face coverings has been shown to reduce your chances of giving it to someone else (NB. not your chances of getting it) by ~80%
