Loan rules

Player Valuation: £40m
I was under the impression that clubs were only allowed three loan signings at any one time but it seems that it's actually four. But it's only possible to have two players on loan from fellow Premier League clubs.

So it seems like we do have a slot available for someone to come in from abroad.

Martinez wouldn't rule Dempsey out in his presser. Would he suit us though? He wouldn't be much use upfront by himself if anything happened to Lukaku and I don't think he'd dislodge Pienaar or Barkley. Plus we'd only get him for six weeks during the American close season. Surely we'd be better looking for someone who could see out the season and might have a future at the club.

I wouldn't mind Cahill back..but again its the same situation as Dempsey with only 6 weeks or so. Donovan perhaps?

Would be nice to snare a youngish player from a top club that hasn't quite made it, kinda like we did with Drenthe (but hopefully not a loose cannon).

I'd take Donovan back for a loan. He's a little older than he was and we don't need him as much. But for a player with PL experience that can play in multiple positions would be a nice extra body for a couple of months.

Not wholly against that thinking mate, yet i think Dempsey would give Ross support in his role and can also come in of the right when Belg Kev isnt in the mood.

think the solution is to play kev on the left mate, always seems to play miles better from their, means we need a right wonger though in that case, would hav eliked dempsey on a perm when he left spurs tbh, think he was treated pretty craply their imo

Anything that adds to the squad is welcome. The starting eleven will sort itself out through form and availability etc. I like the way this manager tends to use all his subs also.

Clint Dempsey typically does not play on the right hand side. Would line up on the left (if he didn't play centrally) and cut in.

Will be an interesting December if both Americans are rumored. If they both arrive, hope GOT has extra bandwidth.

I can't believe I'm even discussing this.

Both couldnt arrive mate, we have one loan spot for the season available as long as the loan is not from a premiership team (of those we are allowed no more)

We can only loan one more player in from abroad.

^I didn't realize we were capped. Thanks for the info.

Adding just a little bit more quality (whoever they are) for that last loan spot would be tremendous and I think give us a great shot at doing something special.

We are close...very close.

Would either Dempsey or Donovan play enough to warrant loaning them? Another lone striker would seem like the most obvious position to try and cover and a 6 month loan with a view to a permanent switch once Lukaku returns to his parent club appears to be the logical solution.

We could agree a deal to sign Barry permanently in Jan. Which would free up a loan place from a Prem team. Donovan has been told he cant go out on loan. McGeady for less than £2m is realistic. Would anybody consider bringing Lescott back?
