Yeah, but who cares what the Cons need, they can just die out like they were before they absorbed the UKIP loons for all I care, but for the sake of the country they need to be well away from the levers of power.

Wonderful bit of British understatement, this.

Makes it sound like they accidentally put a pink shirt in with the whites wash, rather than deliberately and systematically destroyed the culture, economy and infrastructure of a country over a period of more than a decade.

Don't blame Russia for this omnishambles. All western countries are dealing with the fall-out from the invasion of Ukraine alongside their normal concerns and not shooting themselves in the foot like we are.

Unless you are talking about the current government's sleazy acceptance of Russian cash and influence to not act in the country's best interests. In which case I'll overrule my own objection.

It wasn’t a mistake getting rid of Boris. He is a proven liar. It was a mistake for the Tory party members to elect Truss. It would pure conjecture to claim any of the other candidates for leadership may have done any better.
