A lot of Tory party members blame Saunak for Johnson having to resign. In a recent poll the majority of them were in favour of Sunak's economic policies over Truss, but they want their revenge on him. Given a choice they would prefer Johnson over Truss or Sunak.

Unreal this. What confidence does herself and her team have in her if they are scared to do an interview. People have a right to hear the future PM come under scrutiny and pressure. They’re taking the piss more and more.

I can't remember an Irish senior politician who was running for office pulling out of an interview - and she swerved Andrew Neill too?

If I were a UK citizen, I would seriously worry about this person's ability to deal with other international leaders and be respected.

The alternative doesn't impress me either mind you, but at least he presents himself for interview.

In my experience, people who have a perma smile are not to be trusted - I can't warm to him.

What is it with the US and UK in terms of finding proper leaders?? Surely there must be better out there somewhere?
