If this is true, she should be placed under restraint by men in white coats.Thing is, it's totally believable. Meanwhile, slimy Kwarteng attempts implausible deniability.

I'm afraid that the men in white coats might take me if I tried to explain who Liz Truss was and that she was the prime minister and what she did.If this is true, she should be placed under restraint by men in white coats.
In 30 years' time no one will have a scooby doo about how she got into no. 10. To be honest, I'm struggling now to understand how it happened.Apparently she has just said that the Tories would have won the last election if she'd remained PM.
A padded cell awaits.

Actually, yes.
Actually, yes.
But were the PM candidates were proposed by someone on LSD?
There were a few of them rather displeased with boris many antics and his grubbing for pm before he nudged may out. So the obvious and oblivious boris acolyte was promoted early door by his many enemies to give him another shoeing by association. She wonderfully and woefully obliged. Then dorries got her comeuppance and started crying about it in public. truss got busted out as an mp at the GE, why is there so much furore around her mind-meltingly stupid opinions on anything now?As well as Truss and Sunak you had the following running to replace Johnson: Penny Mordaunt, Kemi Badenoch, Tom Tugendhat, Suella Braverman, Nadhim Zahawi and Jeremy Hunt. I've listed them in the inverse order of elimination so you can judge for yourself why some of them got knocked out early.
The thing you have to remember about Tory leadership elimination rounds is that skulduggery is perfectly plausible and early frontrunners can peel off their supporters to lend votes elsewhere, making sure that a difficult rival doesn't make it to the final round of member votes. It's a secret ballot so impossible to tell but Truss may have only been there because Sunak didn't want to face the more competent Mordaunt.
As for why the bulk of the MPs thought Sunak would be a good bet in the first place, who knows?
I actually feel short changed. Could you imagine the gold mine of footage and quotes from her during a general election campaign?Apparently she has just said that the Tories would have won the last election if she'd remained PM.
A padded cell awaits.
Her getting the top job was eye opener on how clueless the tory membership really is, clueless is putting nicely
