Attention seeking Truss. And to think Rostov Truss could be our next Prime Minister. She's proved the old adage that 'any publicity is good publicity' as she's propelled herself to the front of the Tory queue to lead the country. Extracts from Britannia Unchained will be fostered on our children at assembly times, learnt for homework and recited at special assemblies.

Scottish first minister says Liz Truss asked her how to get into Vogue

Creating solar panels is destructive, pollutes and has a lot of embedded carbon/fossil fuel energy in production. Furthermore, the materials are becoming more rare whilst demand is increasing.

Catch-22
Long money always should have been on efficiency this where the green agenda with "renewables" started gazing up it's own tight ass.

Are air/ground source heat pumps and wind turbines for example easier to produce?

Rightly or wrongly I think most governments are now likely to move towards a massive expansion of nuclear energy production.

I don't know mate, there's obviously a lot of embedded hydrocarbons in wind turbines, but that may be offset by a longer lifespan compared with pv's, and less toxic waste maybe...

Nuclear's more expensive isn't it? Lead time of decades, big carbon footprint, we haven't sorted waste storage satisfactorily from over fifty years ago, they need cooling using lots of water whilst water's in short supply and rising in temperature itself.

I can only see degrowth as a solution that will make us better custodians and limit the damage we have caused.

Tbf though, most of the 'green agenda' we've pursued doesn't appear to be particularly green either mate.
Blame the shareholders or their legal right to be treated beyond impunity!
The only really notable change on consumables I noticed was with hoover manufacturers and limit on wattage, which had The daily mail and the express readership up in arms about the lack of power in the hoover suck...

It's crazy how dependent on cheap energy we've become. Bitcoin mining, worldwide, uses the same amount of electricity as the whole of Argentina, apparently.

Had to go back to the old ways of extracting souls...

Truss speaks crap again, notwithstanding they haven't even started building them yet, and forget to mention this :

this dimwit makes a blatantly anti-Semitic comment while accusing others of anti-Semitism:

“So many Jewish values are Conservative values and British values too, for example seeing the importance of family and always taking steps to protect the family unit; and the value of hard work and self-starting and setting up your own business.
