I think it's that 100mph tempo that loses these games. We've frequently lost games by playing the occasion in recent years and I know with 100% certainty that many of our players have gone into recent derbies expecting to beat them and believing they would be better than them before underperforming.

It's been said in the past but I do think you need to keep your head in these games and play our football not the occasion.

If it goes pear shaped just boot the ***** out of them.

Plan A should be to boot the proverbial out of them

Once done, then start to play fitba (optional). All I want from a derby is no quarter given

Just hope the likes of Baines, Barry and Lennon are fully fit enough to put a shift in. Made up Lennon is in, would have preferred Connolly right back.

We just need to stand up, show some bottle for a change. Need big games from all our big players and McCarthy to turn up for a change and dominate midfield
