The defenders didnt do anything either. Martinez deserves his share of criticism but the players for the most part havent put in the effort or desire required. Theyre all to blame for this season. Their first goal came from a lack of desire from our defense, not poor tactics

It's a managers job to get the best out of his team. That involves inspiring them as much as anything.

I don't see that. Barkley doesn't know when to accelerate into space, make an angle for a pass for someone. Lukaku had two men around him challenging for a high ball. Barkley should be helping him, running at an angle either side or going beyond him. Instead he's ambling along 15 yards behind.

The football analysts at the club shouldnve embarrassed. It's the easiest thing to teach a player. How to play off the ball. How to play when the other team have the ball. It's a shame because he could be so much better with a bit of help.

He's not Tim Cahill. He's Ross Barkley. They play football different ways, and that's completely fine.

Stop expecting him to be a Naismith or a Cahill.
