If I was Martinez, I'd sit deep - shut Pool out. They don't know how to deal with that. And I'd really, REALLY emphasise set pieces. They simply can't defend them. Get Distin and Lukaku in their area at every corner and free kick.

I hate to say it but Moyes would be perfect for tomorrow's game. I just don't think Martinez can play that way. He'll try and take on Liverpool by playing football and be too open.
Martinez stated in his press conference yesterday that it would be an open game.

I think we should play it the same as Wolfsburg, sitting off largely but pressing high when the opportunity presents itself. If our approach play is as good as it was against the Germans that'd be a bonus too.

If we press high all of the time we'll inevitably leave space in front of our CBs which would be a disaster.

Mirallas should have a big role in this. I can see him buzzing round and pressing Gerrard/Skrtel in their half so I hope Lukaku is on the alert to take it on when we get that possession there. I get wound up when Lukaku spends so much time on the ball away from where he should be. Get in there, shake 'em up and throw your weight around Rom, ffs !

We can't get the ball above knee height off set pieces anyway, so no point building a game around them if you're Everton.

Just hope Gerrard doesn't try to referee the game as usual.

Also hope the ref hasn't decided how many yellows/reds he'll give out already, and will actually watch the game and decide from there.

Having watched most Liverpool matches this season so far I can only conclude Gerrard is saving all his energy for this one single game.

In spite of what he always trots out in the press about it being three points, this is his big me game...his chance to be cock of the school. You only have to see his wild mad-eyed reactions when he scores. Hes seriously knackered now and although he will still try and throw the Hollywood balls round, if as Ive said, Mirallas is a pain in the arse to him, he'll easily have him for pace.

The only problem with an open game is that we will concede, and when we concede against them at their place our heads go. Then we get tonked. Tomorrow should a Moyes defensive masterclass only I hope we go out all Martinez sex style and tw@t them 8-0
