too many decent at best british/irish midfielders in our squad
Naismith is shuttling vertically as a false 9 of sorts meaning that when he drops deep and gets onto the ball he lacks options when on the transition because he's the striker that's supposed to be ahead of the ball and because he's the one carrying it he's obviously not there. Himself along with the left winger who is as of now McGeady and Lukaku on the right should be the runners with somebody like Barkley in behind instead when you guys work the ball out wide and cut it back into the middle there is nobody there because Naismith is more than likely too deep and Lukaku has to make a difficult run from the right hand side into the box to get to the ball.
With a midfield three of Besic, McCarthy and Barry your midfield is going to lack
penetration.
Obviously Barkley isn't available, could dropping Naismith deeper and bringing on Eto'o be an option?
Lukaku has been so disappointing. It isn't just his impotence in an attacking sense it's that he's been a liability on the ball, have lost count of the amount of times that he's cheaply given the ball away.
I though Hibbert was long gone, could've sworn he had his testimonial.
Stones is destined for great things, cannot begin to explain how highly I rate him.
Ok mateHe should be saving it. Again.
This is as bad as a 7-0 defeat, weak,no guts and have just rolled over really.
The result is everything but it's not easy when your most creative players - Barks Peanuts and then Kev are all out.
