Liverpool Unites stadium

iam starting to think thats the only way either club will move the political people seem to be nudgeing them there slowly

What I'd rather do, was redeveloping Goodison Park, as I do love that stadium almost as much as I love Everton themself. I'd prefer having our own stadium, if we ever move on, but it has to be feasible.

Still think a groundshare wouldn't be such a bad idea though, but only as 100% equal partners.

The shared Stadium is a fantastic idea, and would work really well, if done properly; but that's just it, do you trust our board, their board and LCC to do it properly? :D

I like the idea of the Shankly gates at one end, the Dixie Statue at the other, the Liver bird can stay (it was ours first) and the design for the corners could echo Prince Rupert's tower. Each Club would have it's own home end, with away fans being accomodated within one of the side stands. Each club keeps 100% of revenue generated on it's 'home' matchday (important distinction on Derby days), and shares (probably 3 ways with LCC, depending on the funding model) non - matchday revenue.

Space should be put aside to house the France collection in a large museum area (with an education and learning center) between two club shops along one side of the ground, with the other side of the ground housing the majority of the conferencing facilities.

If done properly, it could be a great shared home, something to be genuinely proud of, in the way the nature of our rivalry used to be something to be proud of, something that set us apart from the Mancs, the Brummies and Cockernees.

We'll see

You've convinced me.

I used to think it was a good idea.

Go on RAWK and see what complete belters they are, what they think of us.

They would demand superiority, and it would be seen as their stadium, not ours, not even equal. Theirs.

Financially it makes sense. Otherewise...

And why call it Liverpool Unites? Merseyside Unites thanks. Stick to robbing hub caps you scummy scousers.

The city is called Liverpool, that's the point, not Merseyside, which is a region-cum-county area. With a name like Liverpool Unites, the rest of the world might actually get it that Everton comes from Liverpool. For what that's worth...

Do we really care what they think of us? As said, it has to be on a 50-50 share, anything else and just forget about it.

I always thought we should change our name to Liverpool United so we could get some recognition and hope people get us mixed up with them.

Wayne Veysey: Grounds for complaint on Merseyside? - Barclays Premier League - ESPN Soccernet

Interesting article on the possibility of a shared stadium. As I see it its like this:

Pros
Reduced Costs
Potential to build an iconic stadium renowned across the country, and world.
Would enable us to stay on Stanley Park.
Possible higher overall income due to better facilities, location, cache etc.
Could bring the two clubs closer together, return to the 'friendly derby' days.
Would make us unique within the UK.

Cons
We have to share with them.
Smaller share of income.
May end up effectively as LFC's 'tenants'.
Pitch quality will/could suffer.
Possible ambivilance of fans, neither side feeling at home, or that the stadium belongs to them.

GJB's post was top too. Either way, anyone who puts together a proposal such as this needs to seriously study the numerous other groundshares around the world, such as the Milans/etc that we all know, plus places like the Staples Centre in LA (basketball) and others mentioned in that article.

the rest of the world would see it as us in their stadium, most would think that anyway.

We'd still want to raise money from the naming rights but something like The Sony Stanley Park Stadium wouldn't be too bad.

That thread Danny Vermin linked showed more of the RS were in favour of looking at the numbers than you'd think.
