Liverpool Echo's association with Everton FC

I notice huge discrepancies between when the Echo staff talk on the Podcast compared to what they write.

Prentice came across a complete tool yesterday.

The Echo is a Kopite rag.

Always has been.

Always will be.
I'll tell you that in 1980 which was smack bang in the middle of the RS purple patch, me and a couple of mates were at a Radio Merseyside Q&A evening at Prenton Park.
I questioned about their favourable bias towards anything colour red, and included The Echo in my verbals.
I suppose that I should applaud the honesty of the reply which was on the lines of Everton will FOREVER be in their shadow and to be realistic in how the local media will be expected to report accordingly.
I will never forget what was said that evening, and have never expected plaudits to come our way from those two set ups, except through gritted teeth.

Twunts mate.

The lot of them.

I remember about two years ago when Echo had to convince peeps about their neutrality...does someone know/remember what that was about?

..and that's the reality. They pamper to the Reds because they are global. The Echo will get 'hits' from around the world from Reds and that generates advertising revenue. There is a status quo in the City. Whilst that status quo exists there isn't a problem. I keep saying the key 'success criteria' of Project Everton is to overturn the status quo.

Remember when they did the #tellAli feedback piece and the message back unanimously was their coverage of Everton was unbelievably poor and not impartial. They responded by denying the whole thing, appointing the blubberer of Crystanbul as Everton correspondent, and wrote a piece how 11th is where Everton belong.

It's a rag designed as click bait for kopites hence their fawning over LFC and the coverage of Everton. It's not written for blues to read pure and simple.

Are you on about the infamous we care about Everton by a County Road mile article?lol

Not looking for bites. A simple observation that this forum is one of the most negative I read (and i look at several others from various clubs).Positive posts about the club are far outweighed by negative posts. Criticism in itself isn't negative but there is an agenda from a substantial number of posters using anything and everything to ridicule and undermine the club at many levels.
Thus it seems hypocritical to me that people are moaning about negatism from anothet public forum.

If the content here bothers and upsets you that much then don't bother reading.Im sorry that Evertonians offering an opinion different to yourself's upsets you so much.

You can quote me but who the f do these taxi drivers think they are?

Are they the official spokesperson for JFT96?

All this total BS - supported by the Liverpool FC Mirror Owned Echo - is disgusting.

We have stood by Liverpool and the victims for the past 28 years and if these taxi asshats want a fight we should give them one and boycott any taxi with the Sun Boycott sticker until they behave themselves and MIND THEIR OWN BUSINESS

Going from the Echo website (when you get past the endless pain-in-the-arse "surveys" and adverts) - It regularly runs "News stories" about "Celebrity footballers bike" Danielle Lloyd.

That's the mentality of the target market for their readership right there.

And as it is owned by the Mirror group, there are constant "Point-scoring" stories about "The Sun" and Hillsborough. Pretty distasteful way to try and attract customers, I'd say.

Ain't bought a physical copy of the Echo in years.

Their disdain for EFC is matched only by my indifference to their opinions.

FERK EM.
Do you remember the story they ran when Firmino had his pony tail cut off?lolKopites lap that sort of guff up and they know it:)

Who remembers all the little kopite giveaways in the Echo over the last few years? We have seen free LFC match programmes a few years back and I remember a huge life size Gerrard poster and they have even gave away an official LFC merchandise catalogue. Its like the echo are their unofficial sponser or something.
