Liverpool Echo Throws Dummy Out Of Pram

That column really is a load of tripe. Just because some idiots have had a go at you doesn't mean that the argument still isn't a valid one.

They know that mate but the whole point of the article IMHO is to find anything then can to take the higher ground and muddy the waters of the argument.

As most have already said - we have seen through it in a second.

One of the best bits is the club official he talked to is the same club official that Collymore talked to - who the Echo rubbished in their Echo Says piece the other day.

So basically, this EFC official is a reputable source when he talks to the Echo, but an unreliable source when he talks to other media!

Oh what a tangled web we weave, when our only aim is to deceive...

Inconsistency again - they're all over the place. Basically it's journalists being asked why they're not acting like journalists getting all precious about criticism. They have no way of solving that by being journalists and getting answers to serious questions that need answering so they attack their own critics instead.

It's utterly pathetic.

"Best" bit is when a supposed journalist actually asks what good asking questions would do. It's like something you'd see someone say on a parody news show.

what is funny about this is that whenever the less scrupulous of talksport nobs start pushing 'Moyes to Spurs' 'Baines to Utd.' etc...without any sources to back it up then The Echo is keen to report it as fact. They have a bookies sponsoring them and their reporting of the blues has been led by that for a long time

Dear me, I cant believe the Echo are using a picture of the Downs children at FF at the top of that Prentice article on 'abuse' by supporters.

Have they got no shame whatsoever?

DAVEK - have they changed the title and added the photo since the early addition?

They, for some reason known only to themselves (although I'll hazard a guess it's because they wanted to cut off a head of steam in the comments which was building up in the original link) have done two links to that story. The first with a tiny pic of the FF visit of those kids, the second with an enormous pic.

It's pretty low yellow dog journalism we're seeing here mate.

The article discusses Distin and abuse aimed at him and the club (which i saw on Facebook and Twitter), the picture is totally relevant. Stop looking for things that aren't there.

They have Dave K

Getting hammered on the update comments as well except the new update does not have the KEIOC response as this was carried in the first article.

They're in a siege mentality at the moment.

I wish for their own sake they just dropped the warlike attitude they have towards their critics...critics who have a very decent point to make about a) the maladministration of their own club and b ) the nature of the different relationship between the local media and the City's two football clubs.

If the pic is 'totally irrelevant" then why have they used that particular one of Distin from the thousands they have...twice in different links?

Yet another example of Evertonians being vilified for showing concern for their club's future.

The board's ongoing, deafening silence is all our fault, because sometimes people say mean things on the internet. If I was that sensitive the last industries I'd get involved in would be football or journalism.

It's about time Everton's board and the news outlets in their pockets were exposed nationally for the utter buffoons they are.
