Liverpool Echo Throws Dummy Out Of Pram

I did ask why the Echo waded in. No one thought it a pertinent question at the time.

Is no one conscious of the reality that Green and Earl are demanding a high price for their support - hence the inflated price. Oh yes it is true.

They had to wade in in the end. Collymore's show aired to the nation Everton fans complaining about how much in the pockets of the club the sports team are on that paper. The Echo then spent two days regrouping in their offices not responding to any questions and broke their silence with an anonymous piece saying it was all much ado about nothing (a line I notice O'Keeffe is tweeting away with right now). To keep their credibility with EFC as their shield on these matters they had to come out and respond. Pitiful as it was (they got 101 comments/slaps in their face for their troubles).

They're bankrupt. I doubt anyone is arsed putting any good faith in that crew. The only time in the future I'll give their info any credence is when they start shifting one way or the other on the manager's position. They'll be told by the club to start briefing against Moyes if he's on the way out...or smoothing the way for the acceptance of his renewal - whatever way the club tell them. That's all their good for really. The rest of the time they're useless....sorry, less than useless.

Reading the statement they put out again, I like the bit were they say " Not afraid to ask the tough questions " it must be the simple questions they are afraid to ask.

Prentice and the rest of them need to grow a fcuking back bone, the flumps.

Absolutely spot on. How hard is it to ask "Bill, total shares for EFC - ballpark figure. Cheers" ?

Apparently (and as O'Keeffe tries to argue again today) nothing new came out of the Collymore stuff.

No, just a working total that they never got from the club for 13 years.

Give them credit, they did report on the 150 million figure from Orville.

I think it will be soon when the Echo does the clubs work on Moyes, twisting the knife and spoon feeding the masses. They should be ashamed to call themselves journalists.

That's true. Next scoop from the Echo sports team: *world exclusive - our impeccable sources tell us Everton are now valued at circa £125M*

I couldn't be arsed reading Tyrell's posts after the first line of his first post, can you imagine what the 'collymore conversation' was like ?

Like a lot of people here I'm bewildered why the club hasn't come out and made a statement, surely the club's silence gives further credibility to the 'facts' stated on talksport. This is a piss poor state of affairs, sadly atypical of Everton's owner(s) these days.

Billy

They are probably delighted we've put them on an agenda and done their work for them. BillyBlueBloodBoysPen BS KingsDockKirkby Kenwrong probably thinks someone will make an offer and all this publicity is free.

Adjective
Extremely unpleasant.
Morally bad; wicked: "as vile a rogue as ever lived".

Really ?

He's acting like a first year cub reporter sheeds. Where's the professionalism from an experienced man there?

"we're getting stick...boo hoo".

A nerve was struck I think.

Without doubt , when your argument is without merit you just point fingers at the grammar or the way the point is delivered , pathetic .

I'm loath again to use collymore as an example but our friends across the park sent him some abuse that could genuinely be called vile and his response was (when appropriate ) refer it to the police otherwise get on with it . For me if its not bad enough to be forwarded to the police then it's not bad enough to complain about .

You'd think prentice was a 12 year old girl complaining a classmate on twitter said theyve got a fat arse .
