Liverpool Echo Throws Dummy Out Of Pram

You'd know all about hypocrisy, Kopite.

Having never been part of the discussion the neandethal resorts to name calling to get attention. There there, have a pat on the head. Go sit in a field of grazing cows.
For anyone educated beyond remedial reading for 4 year olds, perhaps you can enquire as to the stone wall evidence the hard liners keep so clasped to their bosoms.

Thanks mate, seems the red squares dont get any larger so, well, not all that bothered really. Maybe if enough of you get together against the forum member brave enough to ask you some questions you dont like you can have it banned/removed or whatever.
Stasi remember

OK, to look at this post:

So you want a rag, any rag to maintain a relationship that allows them to get info to print and sell so they can turn a living over but also alienate those in possession of the info required to do so by pursuing certain bugbears of fans regarding how a multi million pound business is ran.
Tap your ruby slippers together pal and do one.

So the Liverpool Echo are saying that they produce investigative journalism.

Now, if that were the case, we'd see it, but in every single example they produced, as well as being archaic, they weren't original viewpoints - they are regurgitated from pre-existent national news.

So they haven't produced investigative journalism. What they've done instead is taken the easy route with Everton so as to stay onside with the regime to get the positive news story exclusives. The proof is right there with their publication record.

And that would be absolutely fine if they didn't claim anything otherwise.

But bear in mind the Echo have said this:

So let's just answer it for anyone misreading our silence as 'evidence' that we feel we're on the back foot; in the club's pocket, afraid to ask the tough questions etc.

We're not. Absolutely not.

They can't say one thing and do another mate. A newspaper exists to sell itself, and its clear that the Echo have pushed a very thin, pro-board agenda for a long, long time so as to not be "Blue Union'd" by the club. If they say anything else, they're being disingenuous. And that's the problem - O'Keefe et al claim to be hard hitting local journalists, when in reality they are anything but.

Also, I didn't neg you - but I saw your bar getting bigger and bigger and could understand why it was.

He's as good as admitted he's Paul Tyrell in the Elstone thread.

How pathetic that a club official has nothing better to do than trawl fans forums on a Wednesday night.

Damage control is well and truly underway. Except, unfortunately Paul, we've seen this all before, a thousand times.

Ladies & Gentleman - it's Paul Tyrell!

Say hello to Paul Tyrell everyone.

Paul, why did you give Stan all that information, 'under the cloak of anonyminity', yet we all knew it was you, and then when the doodoo hit the fan, you suddenly claimed plausible deniability?

I know who you are.

Go on then Paul, begin.

We're all waiting, oh knowledgable one. What's it like being a red and working for Everton? That must screw with your head that.

Can you leave this thread - before I ban you?

Thanks

You know what the weirdest thing about all this is? It's been brought on by TalkSport - hardly a bastion of journalism.

In PR terms, Everton, Radio City and the Echo would have been well served to completely ignore it as it would have blown over within 24 hours. The Echo response has been by far the worst though - whoever wrote that did so whilst angry and it comes across as petulant, and pretty much confirms that TalkSport hit close to the mark.

Dreadful PR all round. It always surprises me that there isn't a cool head employed by these people who offer them a more considered opinion before they explode.

I found it hilarious that the Echo footy writers laid low for two days. Doing that and then acting all defensive when they did break silence just highlighted how correct the charge was that they're puppets.

They played it about as wrong as you can.

I guess it explains where Jen Chang ended up though.
