Or maybe realised that Gueye only played half a season in 2019 and therefore those performances (as excellent as they were) shouldn’t be weighted as double those of people who performed for the full 12 months.

Everton meanwhile finished 8th and spent most of this season in 17th.

Digne is the only one you could make an even semi-reasonable argument about (the other 2 having only played for six months)... and even he has been nowhere near his best this season. And in the half season where he WAS good, Robertson notched 8 league assists, won the CL and was part of a team that amassed an almost record points total (since I know how keen you are on points totals as a measure of success).

Not at all, I have no problem with Liverpool being recognised in their own way but why dump on Everton in such glorious fashion. The Liverpool Echo is our local paper. Why drop a turd bomb on us in this fashion.

You're arguing the case for Matip to be seen as a no brainer choice as one of the two CBs...you do recognise that, dont you? Zouma from Jan 1st to May earns it just on that count. 'Mr Edgy' knew that but chose an Everton-free team. He's soooooo controversial.

Well it's not based on one game, it was based on a calander year.
