Little Leon Osman

He'll be a decent squad player to have for the next few seasons.
His position is clearly in the centre so I feel sorry for him a bit.
Billy needs to start next game though.

Osman would be better served more cental, and probably has been playing out of position for too long.
He is a gifted player, but can't get in the game enough in that wide position and Moyes knows it all too well, yet has done little about it really in his time here.
To be fair to Ozzie, he gets a lot of stick, and I'm not innocent where that's concerned, but it's time Moyes sorted the right side out once and for all.
Hibbert we can live with, as he often plays well, but right mid being weak we can't.

I could see Leon Osman as right-back..

Right Back in the dressing room cleaning boots.

he's not a wide man no. Nor is he as good as what we have in the middle.

Weak, cant hold the ball, cant run with it, cant pass it, cant shoot, cant cross, cant tackle, he's slow and even his one good quality, his deft first touch, has dramatically deteriorated. (n)

Look at Cahill. One of our best most loved players but he has been crap lately because he's been played out of position.

Jags was crap in midfield but a god in defence because he sucks when played out of position.

Stick Arteta at left back and Yakubu in centre mid and they will be crap as well.

Osmans best games have come in his best position. And his worst when he is stuck out on the wing.

Never insult Cahill :@ Ever .....you hear me talking hillbilly boy !

Osman was the worst player on the pitch today.
Hibbert again wasn't marking the player coming in on the far post when the cross came in which led to their goal.
I feel we definitely need a right-back. Once Bilyaletdinov is settled I'm pretty sure Moyes will play him on the left flank with Pienaar moving to the right.

Top Sheedy picture . Wish we had Sheedy playing today . " Sheedy ! Sheedy ! Sheedy ! Sheedy ! " Ahh them were the days (y)

It wasn't Hibberts man to mark.....if you watch the replays you will see Ossie tracking him all the way in and his mind goes into space mode as Scharner keeps running, now devoid of a marker and takes his free goal.

And look at Ossie....he checks directly to his left (the side Scharner came from) as Scharner scores, oblivious to the fact his man just scored.

Their goal was entirely Leighton's fault for not closing down at all. He was a bit dodgy at one-on-ones today, old Bainesy.

I actually felt bad writing that, i should of changed it to "Look at Cahill. He has been as effective lately due to playing out of position where his attacking threat has been nullified although he still puts in a better performance in a deep centre mid than Osman does outwide"

Hibbert WAS picking someone up though goal side of Scharner (not sure who though).

His reaction when the goal came in said it all, he just turned and glared at Osman who had his head in his hands cause he realised it was his man who got in unmarked for the goal.

This.

Also, Ossie can't cut it on the wing because he just can't and, in all honesty, he can't cut it in the middle unless he's got a good DM behind him because he can't play the body. For his size and skill-set he's really in no-man's land in either position unless he's going up against a midfield his size, which is rare in this league.

If anything, he needs to be in an accelerated midfield role with Cahill where he can get some space to work. He's always been an attacking midfielder and has rarely been played as such because we don't have the luxury. Quite frankly, if Pienaar didn't have the ball technique that he did (which is his only escape route once closed down), he'd be in the same situation.

im guessing ossie knows he is struggling and it is probably effecting his game.

on his day he can produce good stuff but hasnt produced in ages.

he needs dropping , he needs competition and he needs to earn his place.
