Little Leon Osman

Rather than just sl-ag him off (I know some haven't) cant we just conclude that, in a squad adding more quality to it even as we speak, he's a valuable player for the club to have? It's like all this talk about we "have a problem" with choosing between Fellaini or Cahill to do a job and that they cant play in the same side. That's a luxury not a problem - a luxury the manager must be delighted to finally have. We look like getting a team and bench together for the first time in years and players will rotate within it given injuries, suspensions and, indeed, the type of opposition we face. Embrace it.

Quite frankly if Osman continues to play now we have Bilyaletdinov then Moyes needs shooting.

Says a lot that it wont surprise me if he still does.

Squad player and a good one for us.

However if someone came in with an offer, we'd have to seriously consider it.

But he's been known to have good matches for us, especially last year so I'd most definitely keep him in the squad.

he wont get dropped and he wont get sold, he'll go for the op that he was supposed to have in about november last year, which was put off due to injuries and the need for him to cover positions. the lad has thrown everything at the cause, ran himself to the ground yet he gets criticised.
i know his passes aren't getting to their man, him and hibbo seem to be on a different pitch at times (he was giving hibbo a right one at blackpool for the balls he kept giving him), the lad is now running on empty and the sooner he can have whatever op he was supposed to have and get a bit of a rest, then the sooner we can see him back to fitness and showing what he can do.

i put it down to being played out of position and a flat battery.

tsardiniyar.....it's emperor not emporer(y)

I really hope Billyaletdinov will come through on the right side. Osman had a terrible game today with the culmination of his defending on their goal.

The only times he look to be doing something decent is when he's in the middle of the pitch. He isn't a RM. But I have a hard time seeing him take a starting position when all our midfielders are fit.

Pienaar-Arteta-Neville-Cahill-Billyaletdinov

There's my thoughts on a possible starting midfield, with Neville as DM and Cahill as AM.

I wouldn't sell Osman, rather keep him as a squad player.

i think he's a smashing player to have in the squad, but obviously will be behind arteta, cahill & fellaini for a slot in central midfield & should only be used out wide sparingly as cover. however, due to the non-selection/availability of AVDM last season he has soldiered on out of position for the sake of the team, despite carrying a knock. as a result the lad is clearly well below par & looks low on confidence too. hopefully he can now revert to being a very useful squad player.

Is he right or left footed?
I was under the impression he is a left sided player.
It would be sensible to swap sides with Pienaar, though Moyes may well have other plans.
It would be good if he has been bought to rotate with Pienaar and get another right winger in. Pienaar has his off days too, and we don't really have a sub for his position, but I doubt Moyes has bought him to sit on the bench.

Osman was beyond awful today however he's been a good player for us. He was superb when Bent was CF and both he and Cahill would make runs into the box in 04-05. There was posts touting him for England as well just 2 years ago.

He is playing out of position his confidence is shot, He's not a winger and has to play in a more central role.

Not sure I'd sell him. We are already thin unless we get say 4M for him and could bring someone immediately in as a replacement.

Get Stoke City fan back on the boards and have him start an Osman for Stoke campaign. I think he'd be an excellent player there where he could play a central role off Fuller and have Tuncay to his right dragging a defender with him.

Wouldn't want Ossie or Hibbo for that matter to leave. They would bolster the bench and they are blue which means when they get on, they will give everything.
Not first teamers though, unless we want to settle for mid table.

But yesterday was Ossies worse game against very average opposition.
He usually looks quite good against the teams making up numbers.

Not gonna knock the lad, he was a bit lame yesterday, but then I think he is carrying a knock or two, saw what I assumed was him taking painkillers before the game just after the pre game knock about. Baz was certainly taking some interest in him. Personally I think we love to moan, pick out players and lay blame all too much.

Hmm put him on the bench. [Poor language removed] on the right, and id easily prefer the likes of Arteta/Neville/Rodwell in the centre instead of him.
