If im wrong then it would still mean we couldnt recall him in Jan and send him elsewhere.

So if he wasnt playing or we wanted to push him into a different club in jan we couldnt.

So if we play him now he stays all season with a loan team or comes back to us in jan. Not ideal.
I think the bigger issue is whether he would have been cup tied for the League cup, but Reading are already out.

It would be foolish to risk both our first choice CBs this week against Fleetwood. God knows how Barton is going to send them out against us. I'd play Gibson alongside Kean.

We would then be risking a half seasons development for Gibson.

Its a tough one...

Loaning out these kids is a risk Zat. You have no idea if it's good or bad for the player.

Personally I'd probably keep him until January. It's a risk going with Bramthwaite as back up anyway IMO. I think Gibson is the safer option until Holgate is fit

Possibly but i think weve promised a loan which is why he extended his contract

Needs to stay till January I reckon. Should be starting tonight. We ae only one more injury away from a disaster that could derail our season. Even if we get another more senior CB he is needed to cover till Holgate and Brantwaith are back

He'd only play against opposition of Fleetwood's standard on loan so play him in the cup game and then loan him out towards the end of the window if needs be. It also gives him a chance to impress Ancelotti and stake a claim for being kept around.

If he doesn't get a game tomorrow, he never will. He didn't want to sign a new contract but we talked him around into thinking he had a future here. I don't see how branthwaite is considered ready when gibson isn't.

Won’t take a risk. Just play Keane and Mina tomorrow.

Has he actually gone on loan? Wouldn't it be better to play him tomorrow then let him go or at least wait till cover arrives. Very odd
