Lescott....

My memories are pretty vague on it, but something happened on the pitch (?) one time we played City and Seamus was fuming at Lescott for some reason. Neville tried to calm him down by saying "he's a mate" and Seamus apparently said "he's no mate of mine" haha.

<3 Seamus.

I thought it was more like 'he's not my ****ing mate'!

I'd have Lescott back, I also noticed he shook hands with Moyes at the end of the match which as he hadn't been on the pitch and Moyes publicly slated him when he left was a sign to me that Lescott wants to come back!

Don't get all the love for him from our fans after what happened a couple of years ago.

He wanted the money so let him rot in the City team as far as I'm concerned.

There are plenty of other quality defenders out there for his price.

He should have stayed here and got his 7th place medal, those Premier League and FA Cup Winners medals don't count for ****.

It's not so much love as a practical understanding that a CB of his quality isn't that easy to attract to a club like Everton (sad but true). Wasn't his return to the City squad a pretty big driver to their improved form at the end of the season last year? He's a CL quality defender who has fallen out of favour with a coach who is known for making some odd defensive decisions.

... and that's without mentioning that fact we know he can play well alongside Jags.

I'm not sure what his price would be or if he'd even want to come here but I'd take him back without hesitation. Doesn't mean he's above Baines on my love scale but we are not a club in a position to be that picky about rejecting a top quality CB.

Could care less about him being 30/31 either. I know people are obsessed with youth and promise but the simple fact is we cannot afford to buy top quality players who are 24-26 years of age. We take them at 30+ or we get worse players who we hope might get better.

on SSN with the england squad shown Lescott stood with Baines and Osman talking and laughing deffo think he is coming back in the summer with him no longer first choice at citeh.
Just like Rooney ...

We could possibly take him back, it worked with Pienaar but I'm not sure Lescott would make the same impact.

Age doesn't matter for defenders IMO, defenders could go until they reach 40. And Lescott still has plenty of years left in him.

Moyes probably would revive his career because he's good at doing that but we can't be doing it to every player that have left for money and that have realised the grass isn't always greener.

This really. It just makes business sense more than anything.

This.
It just encourages players to try their luck elsewhere with the knowledge that we will take them back if it doesn't work out.
Don't see Lescott taking a huge pay cut until his mega contract runs out anyway.
QPR are his type of drop down club imo.

Lescott's dodgy knees worry me. Are we sure we'd get the same service out of him as, say, Distin? Age can and does matter, factoring in past injuries is important here.
