Manchester City defender Joleon Lescott has ben linked with a move away from the club this month but the 30-year-old England international is going nowhere.

In a statement released on Lescott's behalf by the player's spokesman tonight, it is clear he wants to remain with City.

"Joleon Lescott has ruled out the possibility of any loan move during the January transfer window," said the statement.

"Despite speculation linking him with several Premier League clubs, Joleon has no desire to leave Manchester City."

Dont believe a word of it. Dont think its been fed by Lescott either, more so Man City saying it through his agent.

Mancini as even said after game he aint leaving, says with both Toure brothers away he needs all players and isnt letting anyone go.

Confirmed he is leaving City but still seems a touch upset about being called a money grabber

ha, how exactly has he hit back? i'm pretty sure the term money grabber used by evertonians doesn't mean "you'll never win anything lar". players do lack a certain amount of IQ these days don't they? it's as if he expected everton fans to understand fully and accept that he was leaving for a worse team because they could pay him an extortionate amount.

i was never that arsed that he went when he did, thought we got a fee way above what he was actually worth and thought his goals made him seem a better player than he actually was, so never really got fussed that he did go for the money. it benefited both parties.

do peeps on here still want him back?

He's got no class about him. Ridiculous that city can buy him for £22m and just let his contract run down and leave on a free, barely unnoticed. Poor business from them

It is, their maybe a u turn here following the FFP stuff and the limitations to their squad for Europe next year, surely he's worth keeping as a 4th choice if they need to meet the home grown quota? sounds like he'd be happy to play a bit part and take the money.

It seemed really odd for him to still be so senstive about it after so long - why bring it up when his leaving should be all about what a wonderful time he had at City?

No way would I want him back, not because of the way he left us but just don't think he would fit very well with the way Martinez wants to play. Guess he would cost a fortune in salary as well.

Would prefer to keep Alcaraz and train up some of the youngsters plus a cheap CB from Roberto's scouting.
