Anyone reckon this will happen?

Moral high ground aside, which of course has zero impact on the players we sign, i'd love to have him, he is better than both distin & heitinga.

Would love Duffy to get more games, he looks the part.

It's a tough one isn't it?

He left us like a total nobhead. But he's quite boss, especially with Jags.

Certain to get a mixed reception.

I think I'm ok with it now

I wasn't too keen on the idea at first considering how he left but the fact is him and Jagielka are great together, it would be a massive help to have those two back together right at the peak of their careers.

Just can't forget the way he left. But more importantly think his knees will finally go with us so I would rather go with youth.

I think we Can't afford to turn this down if its true. His partnership with Jags was excellent and he won't need time to settle. Imo this will be a loan deal initially until the summer, then he will only have 1 yr left on his deal and he will be 31. He won't cost to much then and will know he has to take a wage cut so it won't be an expensive deal.

If he says sorry for the manner in which he left, I (along with most Toffees) would welcome him with open arms.

He was absolutely brilliant for us. Keeping Baines out for an entire season is no joke and he was even better when he moved inside with Jags.

Might mean we actually keep a few clean sheets!

Honest question : as a fan, why would you ever think a pro footballer would even consider apologising or even be bothered?

It won't effect the transfer for either party.

"Sorry Jo, you need to get the Everton crest tattooed on your face, and write an apology letter to every single fan in order to rejoin us".

I can remember a LOT of very unsavoury comments about him following his move, and subsequent return to Goodison, I remember the chanting v City( when Osman scored the header)

"Fans " make me laugh,

All fair points mate, as are comments about him strengthening us at set pieces.and the pienaar return has certainly shown sometimes you can go back! Just have a feeling too much time has passed and that their partnership was at its peak when broken up. However in the real world of football trading JL in JH out and a kitty to strengthen elsewhere could certainly be good business. Ideally for me tho we would find the next Jolson lescott and get several years out of him.
