which one of these players have been good in their last year, they got criticized for their performances, and objectively most would agree. Cahill is now treated like goodison royalty because he was a top player and clearly loves us, neville isn't because he was utter gash and is a bell

Not being an arse here mate but I have no idea what you're trying to say here.

And Cahill did well for us in that he used what limited technical ability he had with his tenacity to help us to points - mostly against the RS. Osmans contributions have been more subtle, granted, but they arent to be dismissed just because there isnt a mocked up image of him saying romantic things about the club regularly doing the rounds on social media.

Your point of Cahill loving the club as well seems odd as Osman is an academy graduate, a scouser, and quite obviously a massive evertonian just like your Cahill God.

Neville was gash, in his last season, where he was playing centre midfield - a position he was never the most comfortable in even in his prime. He was played there by the manager at the time so surely if you have frustrations they should be vented towards Moyes?

In previous seasons, and at full back Neville proved to be as astute buy at £3.5mill. He was an excellent captain and whilst probably didnt do enough to be remembered with legendary status, he certainly doesnt deserve the pathetic lambasting he gets on here like what youve just typed.

I remember the same thing happenening with Neville as is now Osman. Neville said something like a 7th place finish is good for a club like everton. Just like this rubbish with Osman, the quote was isolated and stripped of any context that had originally been associated.

Neville was saying that on the budget that we had at the time and the level of spending above us our 'default' position was always going to be 7th and a position we couldnt grumble at. Anything above was a bonus which was absolutely spot on.

Osman when reading with context, was saying that Cahill had left a year before and, if he needed to at all, he should have been first to walk out in front of the fans. Really, and I further agree, he should have had the class you seem to think he had and respectively declined the invitation.

After all, Cahill can do no wrong so who would have judged him or even found out if he had decided to let Neville and Moyes have their moment in front of the standing ovation they were due to receive.

Cahill can do no wrong? you just listed him in his last season as a supposed whipping boy, he wasn't a 'whipping boy' he was just playing poorly so got criticized more, it's not really that complicated, you play badly, your more likely to get criticized, its a performance industry.

Neville said a top ten finish is an amazing achievement for a club like everton, thats what he said, our captain, he was also terrible in many peoples opinion's, so what he says may get slated more than lets say a good footballer, who will have built up more good will from good performances, as this is a performance industry.

Osman gets criticized when having a go at a popular figure like cahill, people side with cahill not because he loved us, but because he was a better player than osman, show more fight and put more effort in, again, it's a performance industry, its performances that generally increase popularity. It's not about having a whipping boy, though if you want to be some kind of sycophantic superfan, you can praise everyone to hilt all day long, more power to you. Most fans look at the game with a little more scrutiny, as they want their team to do better, when they see something worth criticizing they will, and remember this is a forum, we are not at the game, they aren't booing osman during a match, if he frustrates the hell out of people which he clearly does then this is the perfect place to vent that, no matter how much it disgusts the super fans

Cahill can do no wrong?

It was a more general comment this - based on the fact that people like you think the sun shines out of his backside. I think he did plenty wrong, but did many things right just like most players. And to think, my previous message was based on the theme of context!

In answer to this, you obviously missed this from the echo matey:-

PHIL Neville has moved to clarify comments he made in an interview which appeared to suggest finishing in the Premier League top 10 was acceptable for Everton.
The Blues skipper received flak from angry supporters after making the admission in a TV interview just 48 hours after his side's FA Cup quarter final humiliation by Wigan last Saturday.
But, writing in his programme notes ahead of Saturday's Goodison clash with Manchester City, the 36-year-old insists his remarks were misconstrued.
He said: "I made some comment during the week about top 10 finishes being fantastic for Everton.
"My comments have been misconstrued. I was trying to compare where Everton are now to where the club was 10 years ago but it didn't come out right.
"Anyone who knows me, knows full well that 'top 10' isn't good enough for me - and the tweets I received made sure I was aware of how the comments had been taken.
"Evertonians quite rightly have high standards for themselves, and for their team, and I can assure you that mine are just as high."

Id also be interested to find out what in your eyes a 'good' footballer is?

To the first point in bold - absolute rubbish and further you have nothing to qualify this. What on earth are you basing this on? Sweat? Sendings off? You're spot on this is place is all about opinion, but how can you have an opinion on what other people feel about a certain subject (our club)? You havent got a clue and further has nothing to do with 'performance' as you keep banding on about.

Lastly - having a little less opinion about things I know nothing about, and being a bit more impartial when it comes to Osman v Cahill is not being sychophantic mate.

Cahill nor Osman and even Neville were/are the best players, but they all have served our club and cause with dignity and commitment and for what they cost each I dont think that we can ask for more than that.

The madness in here is intoxicating ! I nearly got banned after perusing some of the more dafter comments. I just couldn't help myself and I can feel the......................... I'm off!
