Pity he absolutely didn't in the biggest game of his career like, the '09 Final. Was disgracefully anonymous.

Whilst i agree he was anonymous, i feel Moyes didnt change things that day, i could see Hibbert been run ragged by Malouda and Cole (I think), Osman provided no cover in the midfield, some players have them days to be fair were they could play 100 good games on the run, then just have no luck when it counts most. Dont forget at least ossie was at that game, yet drenthe who cost us the semi against liverpool is still talked about with more admiration, 'ohh drenthe was a good player, shame we never seen the best of him - raw talent' blah blah blah.

Osman was the perfect squad player. Not quite good enough for the first team which is why he got so much abuse and blame but could play a number of positions all to a very good standard and could also win us games.

Lets be honest. I would have Osman of a few seasons ago over both McGeady and Naismith any day of the week.

You can't fault his dedication to the club, and he does have great technique.

But for all his qualities, the only club ON RECORD (maybe others too?) who have tried to buy him is Derby County. That's how much the 'outside world' values him.

When he plays he usually creates something, unfortunately that's forgotten when he tries that rubbish little shimmy before trying to go past a player, who nicks the ball of his toes and runs away laughing. It's not worked for 10 years, turn it in lad.

He's not going anywhere, support him when he's on the pitch. (like all our players.)

That's grossly misleading.

1) Clubs may have never give him a second thought as he was always seen as a dedicated EFC player and served no purpose pursuing him;

2) He clearly is not good enough for the top 4 sides, hence they were never going to come in for him;

3) He plays in a position which is hardly a rarity - every club seems to have a wealth of central midfielders, or at least can alter their formation when they're short. He may have been more in-demand had he been a winger, LB or RB, for example.

Can't argue with any of that, I just like a little dose of reality in the Osman fan debate.

It's fine to think he's a decent player, as opposed to either "Crap, Lad" or "OMG he's amazing.....we're so lucky to have him."

Yeah, he's 'decent.'

Never thought I would want this little crap beaut back so much, That's how crap our attacking options are

Hopefully Atsu and Lennon can provide some spark in the latter stages of the season
