Surely if it's true, tge Palace game is when we reveal that Oviedo is miraculously match fit again, right? He's made a crazy recovery. Right???!

Bits mate, not loads. Certainly not an expert but the lads a decent pro and a good player. Still a lot to learn but very baines esque.
He's only played up to league 1 standard before though. Puncheon is probably palace's best player and is flying at the moment. I'd be very nervous if we had garbutt up against him for this one. The stakes are too high.

Well we've got options if true:
  1. Play Garbutt
  2. Play Coleman at LB and play Hibbert or Stones at RB
  3. Play Barry at LB, drop Ross deeper
  4. Play Distin at LB
  5. Play 3 at the back

The way i see it, he has experience both at youth international and with older pros down in the lower leagues. There is no point in being nervous as young lads always have to make their debuts at some point. And with the system we play i think it makes it a lot easier for young lads to come in and play. He'd do fine IMO.

Yep. Looks like it's true. FFS.

He's just uploaded this picture a few moments ago via Twitter:

Christ, looks like it's swelling up really bad. Either that or he's got the fattest toe I have ever seen.

Anyone think we might see Martinez opt for 3 at the back if Baines is out and Jags is fit? Might work nicely with Stones on the right, Jags center and Distin Left. With Barry and McCarthy ahead of them, I can't Crystal Palace threatening a defense that solid.

would go with 4 or 5 tbh. don't want garbutt and hibbert starting during this run in

Tempted to say Stones could play LB.

At this point I'd not be surprised of he learned Farsi in a weekend and the sound of his voice cured infertility.

Watched Roberto's interview today on the OS right after the Sunderland match and the interviewer asked him if anyone had any knocks to which he replied that he wasn't aware of any.

Unless something came up that he was unaware of, and the OS hasn't said anything either, I'd say that it's a rumor and that's all.

Garbutt with get a start either way, either on the left of a four or wing back as part of a five. I reckon because its Palace at home he'll start Garbutt in a back four.
If the injury is true then it wouldn't surprise me. I wouldn't do it but it would go against what Martinez is about to deny Garbutt the opportunity with Baines and Oveido out.

Garbutt was recalled from a successful loan spell to cover for this eventuality so I'd expect Roberto to give him his chance. Gutted if Bainsey is injured but also quite excited to see another of our youngsters get a chance in the first team. I think with experienced players like Distin and Barry close buy to help him out he'll be fine, from an attacking point of view he is supposed to be pretty decent, good crosser of the ball and hits a good free kick.
