I hope when baines returns oviedo gets a chance to rotate with pienaar and mirallas to keep up his game time....he is perfectly capable and has earned it

Thats kinda my point, but Fellaini didnt snooker himself, United could have saved themselves 4m.

well he handed everton all the cards by signing the contract, and ending up having to get on his hands and knees and beg the club to let him go. yes obviously there was a release clause that was not met. but why run the risk of someone not meeting the clause on baines part?

baines refuses to sign a contract and it will be the club pushing him out the door to the highest bidder, not the other way round.

Fellaini made sure there was a "cheapish" release clause, he hardly handed the cards to Everton, he should br given credit for actually signing a contract tho, he could defo have turned snide.

yes sorry addressed that point afterwards - there's always a risk that the clause, for whatever reason, is not met, and then if you really want to go it can get messy, which i maintain it did with fellaini - hence the sky high fee at the end.

And if United would have made a move a month earlier the cards would have all been with Fellaini and United.

i honestly dont think utd wanted him, i suspect it was very much an afterthought on their part to buy him - which is why they never triggered the clause.

once again the safest option for baines if he really wants to leave (not saying he does, but if he wants to leave) is to refuse to sign any contract, and then we will see Everton having to appear to be flogging him off to whoever puts a bid in.

and if it is Moyes who wants him, I'm sure he himself will be more than happy to give Baines advice on how to run down contracts and then try to appear to have acted with honesty and integrity.

The fact he hasn't signed a contract yet doesn't mean anything. The same people shouting that it does probably did the same before Fellaini signed a new deal.

as i said, the fellaini situation was far from ideal for fellaini after the clause was not met, baines will surely want to avoid a similar farce occuring.
