Leighton Baines

It'll be the Munich ones sadly, unless people decide to be hipsters and go for Baines, which would be the best option.

Alright, so the FIFA FIFPRO World XI for 2013 is to be announced in about 24 hours' time.
They're choosing an entirre team based on the votes of 50.000 football players and professionals.
Previous winners LB/RB: Dani Alves & Marcelo, Dani Alves & Sergio Ramos, Maicon (+ 3 centre backs).

LB's RB's shortlisted for 2013:
* Pablo Zabaleta
* Dani Alves
* David Alaba
* Leighton Baines
* Jordi Alba
* Marcelo
* Philipp Lahm
* Branislav Ivanovic
* Ashley Cole

So, blues, what do you reckon are his chances? Feel like ranking the above list from best to worst, maybe? Have at it.

No Oviedo????

Right backs:

Lahm
Zabaleta
Alves
Ivanovic

Left Backs:

Baines (NEA)
Alaba
Alba
Marcelo
Cole (would be much higher a couple of years ago)

Thought he was very good Saturday, and it's obvious Pienaar is a much better player when Baines is on the pitch. Oviedo has been excellent but he doesn't elevate the game of others around him. LB is a class above.

Alaba will probably get it cuz, as with Lahm, his team won everything.

I think he does, but he perhaps doesn't only elevate one person... Both offer something very different, and both are class.

The best thing out of this is that one can learn from the other, really.

Hopefully this will shut everyone up who wants Oviedo starting games ahead of him. He is the best all round player I have seen in an Everton shirt. Delighted he is staying.

Daily Mirror twitter is run by a right smart arse.

Greg O'Keeffe tweeted the news, prompting someone to reply, 'what's the Mirror going to write about now, they're obsessed with the Baines to United story'. The Mirror responded: 'We're sure other clubs have learned their lesson and won't think about signing Everton players.' and posted a photo of Ross Barkley.

What a bunch of bad blerts.:mad:

If Baines signs this new deal and stays with us another 5 years for me he would be second only to Southall as a proper Everton legend.
