Rumoured to have leapfrogged the Galloot in the pecking order and about to become a key member of the Everton first team coaching staff. A successor to Benitez might be pushing it time-wise, but he's apparently done well as a youth development coach. I'm sure he'll be doing all his coaching badges in the next year or so if he hasn't already done them.

He's a much more credible blue to be making manager than Ferguson; Baines is serious and articulate, whereas Ferguson is all spluttering OTT passion and he lacks polish. Baines has demographics on his side too: he's a hero and role model to...

Hope he does well in this interim role. Baines always seemed like a pretty smart guy, I wouldnt be surprised if he could become a good manager.

Baines and Coleman are among my fave players, so Im interested to see what they can do together.

Wrong - You wrote that 3.5 years ago NOT 4 years.
Wrong - At the time of writing Benitez was the manager. The next manager was Ferguson. The next manager was Lampard. The next manager was Dyche. So Baines isn't the next manager but one.

I can only conclude that you still deserve the badge of 'the poster who 'gets nothing right'....'
