Should the lad start against Hull on Sunday?

In my opinion he is simply too good to rot on the bench. He needs a decent run in the team... from that I assume you can guess what I voted! :P:lol:

Simple poll really, should the lad start

How long is a decent run? He's played the last 101 games, I'd have thought that was fairly decent.

No brainer imo, he needs dropping for everyone's sake.

I agree with you Lescott needs to be dropped but I think GOT's post was refering to Baines and not Lescott.

Good post though and welcome to the site. (y)

Play Baines.

Moyes dropped Yakubu last season for being off form when he wasnt scoring in 5 or 6 games (not the time when he came back late from the ACON). I dont see why he doesnt do it for Lescott who is off the pace.

When we bought Baines, everyone rated him -- at Wigan he was on the cusp of international call up and made some good starts for us untill getting niggling injuries. He needs a run out.

But then again, we lose our height and some of our strength at the back. Maybe Yobo should rest it out and Lescott at CB. But he's on dire form.

Decisions indeed. But Baines needs to play otherwise we might as well sell him or he will probably want to leave himself.

Play Baines, give Jo a rest/kick up the ass, and at the end of the day. Baines should be playing and doing what he was hired for. Running the left. I think Lescott is fantastic, but he is a central Def that can cover left. It is not his primary role. He should fill the gap that Baines opens when he runs the line. Simple football.

Apologies, I misunderstood.

Yes, play Baines, or Valente, or my gran (and she's been dead for fifteen years!) ahead of Lescott. He's a legend in the making and I'm sure he'll be back but just at the moment he's making Titus Bramble look solid. Needs to sort his head out.

I just don't see how continually changing the back four will help us. We need some consistency and once Jags, Nev, Lescott and Yobo are settled we'll see the strong defence that we saw last season.

Baines had three games at left back this season and to be honest looked as bad as Lescott. I'm a fan of his attacking play but he can't defend, he looks very vulnerable in that area.

Lescott has had two games at left back, one decent game one awful game. Keep him there, let him build his confidence and watch him improve.

If where going to go on form then neither should be there, some people seem to have forgot how poor Baines was when he played though. If it's on form then Nuno deserves a go, he played well against Blackburn.

Baines cost a fair whack too. Give the guy a go. With the expansive game we're looking to play at the moment he should fit in well. I'd like to have a couple of holding players though so we have adequate cover. Liege looked dangerous on the counter.

I'd give Baines a chance now. Lescott has made mistakes and if Baines isn't given the chance when his competitor for the starting slot is out of form, then when will he get it? We need both of them in matchform, so I'd give the nod to Baines.

No way does Lescott deserve to replace Jagielka or Yobo in the center. HE was at left back last season and he was brilliant, so we know its no teh position.

Id keep Lescott for the game against hull i think it will be a physical game, i would be tempted though to play Baines in the derby the shites width and fullback are poor.

Well the upcoming Standard Liege match is our most important fixture. We need to see if Lescott can get his head on straight, because if he does and this is just a blip then we he's at his best he's a much better player than Baines and we need to field the best top 11 possible. If he can't do it against Hull, then we drop him for Liege.
