Left Back

One of the worst decisions the club ever made was to sell Rom when they didn’t have too. Not only that but at a cheap price

It set the club back upto a decade losing him and failing to replace him. (Still not replaced in my opinion)

You think we’d have learnt our lesson when it comes to needing a left back. One who can emulate Baines and make him second choice as he enters his winter years. Yet once again it looks highly likely we have failed. Not surprised, as this highlights as usual the lack of ambition at the club.

It now looks like we are going with Garbutt who’s showed very little so far and looks way off this level. We’ve seen with Martina that doing it the cheap way and patching up positions Does not work!
My guess is Kenny .

You can't blame the club for this one mate there is a world shortage of left backs in fact it' getting so bad that some major shoe companies are only selling right feet.

We are really going to struggle this second half of the season and the man in charge of transfers and football should be sacked for doing nothing.

The second half of the season with everything to play for, really cant see us winning anything unless we sort this now!!

Anyone recall when we last has a genuine left sided player on the wing / wide left midfield? Bilyetdinov? Really peculiar. Don't get me wrong, it can be dead effective having a right footer cutting inside but surely it would be useful to a) be able to play a left footer wide left and b) have the option of someone on the right cutting inside for variation?

FINALLY A LEFT BACK!

SOARES LOAN TERMINATED

Rafael Soares’ loan at Fulham has been terminated by mutual agreement.

The left-back has hardly played and they brought in Matt Targett on loan from Southampton earlier this month.

Title the thread 'left back'

Immediately proceeds to talk about Lukaku...

We did have to sell Lukaku though. Where are you under the estimation we didn't. He didn't to play for us and wanted out. So you wanted him to go for free?

Also i didn't realise he was sold a decade ago.

But anyway as for a left back i do agree we should have been looking a while ago. Pity the last two managers weren't on top of that, as in pushing it to Walsh as a need and a concern.

I don't agree with the lack of ambition thing. Poor management does not mean lack of ambition it simply means poor management.

I am pretty sure we have heard soundbites of how ambitious those that run the club are. Whether they successfully follow it through by hiring the right people and doing the right thing is another matter

It's fine, we are waiting on a mediocre centre half to decide if he wants to come play left back for us, we got this.
