I am posting this, not out of arrogance or egotism, but out of honour and honesty.

A few of you will know me and will know my story. I came to this forum a few years ago when things were great and life was fantastic...

...but a lot has happened since I made that post. Many of you were very much involved in that situation and saw my life descend into chaos. Many of you contributed; many of you rescued me from the depths of self-pity and thoughts of suicide and much darker things than that.

It all started then...back in April. I've not slept in my own bed since, in my house. Nor am I destined ever to do that again. A lot of water has passed under that bridge.

I'm making this thread to say thank you.

You are an amazing set of people. Truly fantastic. I will always love you and always respect you for what you have done. My wife got me into Everton, and my wife left me the night I watched an Everton game.

For that, Everton will always been tinged with a bittersweet sadness I can never come to terms with.

I will miss Everton greatly, and you all especially. But I can't do it. I've tried and it just hurts too much.

I will keep my membership open and I will honour payments for the subscription fee annually until the day I die. I will do that for the love, honesty, sacrifice and sheer support and determination I was shown by a plethora of people on this forum.

I'm not afraid to say that I am tearful now, writing this. You're a wonderful bunch. More my family than any other people have been this year, aside from a select few.

I will always love you all and I will always love Everton, but I can't come here again and Goodison Park holds too many ghosts for me to ever visit.
