League of Ireland 25/26

I’ve subscribed to the LOI channel. I Would love to see the league getting stronger and stronger. Whilst I love some of the old school stadiums, the govt needs to step up and help the likes of shelbourne and the rest to develop or build new grounds to help them compete at a higher level. Bohs and Sligo are due to build and extend, but the likes of st.pats, shelbourne and others need to update their stadiums or build new ones. There’s no reason why Ireland can’t develop a league as competitive as say the danish league, as population wise, they’re quite similar. The league is definitely on the up.
its a tough one, the old school stadiums are part of the appeal as a fan, but the league would develop with better stadia

also with more sides playing in europe the only small stadium fit for purpose is tallaght. that possibly needs solving

Well, Bohs and Pat's recovered. Keeps the League open and that's a good thing for all.

I remember Bohemians Prague in the 70s but this season Slavia are champions and Sparta second. Bohemians 10th and Dukla struggling at 14th.

The Shams have kicked their womens senior team out of their Roadstone training facility. They have replaced two paid physios with interns and also the paid S&C coach with another intern.

Im told this will.also happen in the academy and many paid positions will be replaced by interns there also.

It seems like they maybe struggling financially but no one will ever admit that.
It would be interesting to see what happens if they don't make European group stages this season

What was the story with Bradley calling out the club/agent over the Noonan sale? Seems to be some issues behind the scenes there alright.

Great question.

There was no real reason for Noonan to leave Pats and join Shams as he was always going to get the move abroad anyway. My understanding is that Martin (now FAI) gave the agent a % of the future transfer fee to move him from Pats to Shams. Sliding scale the more the transfer fee the bigger % for the agent. Hence FiFA looking into 3rd party ownership.
Bradley and Martin fell out massively and Bradley calling it out was his attempt to shove Martin under the bus.

Bradley wanted Seani Maguire when he was coming back from England, did a deal with Maguire and Martin as CEO said no until it was confirmed they had made group phase that season. Cork City stepped in and signed Maguire and Bradley and Martin fell out, the rest they say is history

Sounds like the bad old days of the likes of Pat Dolan and Pat Devlin etc. Can see Bradley taking the next offer that comes his way.

Right... tonight's fixtures:

Bohemians. Drogheda United
St Patrick's Athletic. Shelbourne
Waterford United. Derry City
Dundalk. Shamrock Rovers live on Virgin Two

Always very tricky in Oriel Park for Rovers.

Sligo Rovers. Galway United tomorrow.
