League of Ireland 25/26

Vaughan

Player Valuation: £35m
Anyone follow the leagues or support a club?

Been to a couple of Shels games as have mates in Dublin who are fans, pretty loose over there and managed to take a bag of cans into the aviva for the cup final a few years ago, steward told me I had to take the cap off my water bottle but the cans were grand

Also been to a few Finn Harps games as my dad is from Donegal so spend holidays there. Decent enough community and crowd there. They have been in financial turmoil after a couple of compensation payouts to lads who got injured in training and presumably couldn’t work their day jobs for a while. Programme for each game just full of pleas to enter a club prize draw and join a WhatsApp group to canvas around the county getting people to buy tickets

Completely different world to the premier league

Anyway, Bohs sit top. Michael Noonan, a really promising young striker scored for Rovers last night

We usually have a thread for each season. Seems you've opened the one for 2026. The league is played from February to November including Cup competitions.

I don't see one for 2026 so we might use yours!! 😀

Shamrock Rovers my team, first two games postponed due to terrible weather but we got off to a great start last Friday, beating Pat's 2-0.

There are Dundalk, Drogheda, Bray, Limerick and Sligo fans on here that I can think of.

Table after 3 (scheduled) rounds of fixtures:

Rovers play Dundalk at home tomorrow - rescheduled.

of course, force of habit i think . i can’t seem to edit but perhaps a mod can change it

dundalk have a good coach, hope they do well this year

Bad start for Dundalks new pitch!

Agree they’ve a good coach and always liked Killer. That said I’d love to see them drop back down

I must say I hate flares and pyrotechnics at soccer matches. I would welcome heavy enforcement of a ban. Yes, Rovers Ultras are some of the worst offenders and I would be happy never to see these dangerous and antisocial devices at future Rovers games.

Banners a plenty are quite sufficient along with loud vocal support.

How you reckon we'll get on against Bohs @Bluerover
Hopefully our poor early-season form of 24 and 25 isn't rearing its head again after Monday's disappointment.

In fact 2020 was the last season when we won both our opening matches.

Dalyer is always difficult, and with this being bozos' last season there before redevelopment, the crowd will be very noisy.

Gaffney and Kovalevskis seem to be the only absentees, so the squad should be strong. Lee Grace can make his 300th appearance this evening.

Hopefully Rovers keep it calm and avoid unnecessary cards - reds are always a danger in these matches.

Bohs with changed jersey - no black stripe??

Rovers

McHinty
Lopes Cleary Grant
Brennan O'Sullivan
Watts. Healy
Burke. Ozhanyuna
Noonan

Happy enough with that

HT bohs 1 Rovers 0. Entertaining half, but Rovers need to watch the breaks.
It was an 8 pm ko

Derry 0 Waterford 1
Drogheda 1 Shelbourne 0
Galway 1 Sligo 0
St Pat's 2 Dundalk 0

All 7.45 kos.
