Those who are old enough to remember. How many of you genuinely believed in the autumn and winter of 1983, that our team was full of Top notch performers and had leaders all over the pitch? I'm not suggesting for one minute that the players we have today are a patch on that team. However, time and again I've seen teams totally transformed by the arrival of one player or one moment. I seriously believe that, with the right galvanising agent, the current team has a far higher performance threshold than we are seeing at the moment. Remember, hindsight is a wonderful thing. The following team was booed off the pitch on New Year's Eve 1983.

Cowards? Useless? If internet had been around at that time, there is absolutely no doubt in my mind that the comments would have been incredibly similar to what we're seeing today.

Wow , that was a team and a half . I couldn't imagine booing any of them at all except Heath . I couldn't stand him .
I wonder how much a defender of Rats quality would be worth nowadays.

We are definitely missing leaders. Brands should be identifying leaders amongst any new signings. People who hate getting best as much as the fans

He hasnt bought a leader since the day he arrived, surely he isn't going to wake up tomorrow and think
`ha, ha, Ive got it, Ill start looking for some leaders on them videos'.

Amd if someone else has to tell him to find some leaders, what is he doing in that job?

Exactly the sort of response from the same ilk of posters who cant wait to tag anyone who doesnt rate DCL as soon as he scores his customary 1 in 7 games.

Facts are the likes of Ings and Zaha would improve this side 100%

Blokes a winger mate - and hes scored more than Walcott, Iwobi & Bernard despite being in a sulk over not getting his move away in the summer.

I think one of his early signings might go straight in as captain, if not the first one.

It would be a bold move and the role can be over-rated anyway but it would be one way of sending a message to this group.
