You've got to understand mate it's all about opinion...You could spend £700M in a season and not win the league. If we fail to win it in the next few seasons then granted it's probably a failure but it's a bit unfair to say that after our first full season.

You beat us twice last season but we beat Chelsea twice...means nothing really and unless you can show your progress across a full season it counts for sod all.

You've been spunking money for a few years mate, what were saying is that for all you've spunked you're still not all that.

Yet it seems that most City fans have a huge bee in their bonnet about being known as massive club and being contenders and blah blah blah.

That's just small time, big clubs don't have to advertise it, they just know it.

Chili - depends if you're talking Texas chili or some other [Poor language removed]. All me pastie knowledge has come from my friends here at GOT. Not even going to try to find one here as I can't imagine it would do the pastie itself justice.

You've actually got it totally backwards. I couldn't care less about who thinks we are or aren't a big club but I don't like people plucking out nice statistics to make it look like we've been spending for decades and still haven't won anything. Anyone who thinks we were trying to win the league under Sven's spending is deluded but it's quite easy to portray it that way for a laugh.

I'm not talking decades mate, I'm talking the past few years. You have been spending loads but the fruit of that is your squad, which when you consider you cant put out a better 18 than us is a bit worrying. That, coupled, with the devastating six points we took off you last season is a sobering fact. And were talking facts here man.

Lol, 6 points is 6 points, fair play to you for that but essentially it proves nothing and we could spend all week arguing about who's 18 is better. Fact of the matter is we started assembling a league-challenging squad last summer when we got Adebayor, Toure, Tevez, Lescott and Barry. We have had one full season since spending the bulk of the money and prior to that we had undergone two changes to our owners and management and subsequently the money spent has been on a rotating squad.

Yeh I heard that bit...but what does that prove? Like I said mate we dominated Chelsea twice last year, doesn't mean we should've won the league though does it?
